Xspender so glad for you assuming yr dh will share his payrise with you lol.

It all goes in 1 account and DH just lets me get on with the budgeting and doing what needs to be done.:D I think he was quite surprised when we had the money to buy and pay the mortgage on the house we are buying.:rotfl:

Eager elephant please share your secret for gf Yorkshire puddings?! Mine never rise :(

I would like the recipe too as mine never rise either and the frozen GF ones always have a bit of a funny taste to me.

Went to see the house yesterday and to discuss buying some curtains and bits off them but they are wanting silly money for stuff that I would rather buy my own.

I am up to date with the washing and will ask DH to do the ironing as I am away from tomorrow morning until late Thursday night this week.

We are chomping at the bit to move but the vendors don't want to move any earlier so we will just have to sit tight. I am sorting my cupboards out but not packing because there is no where to put the boxes once packed and we have 8 weeks to go to move date

DH and I are going to concentrate on exercise and healthy eating (and his new job!) between now and move date to stop us worrying about the house move. I need to lose half a stone and DH needs to lose the best part of a stone he has put back on since Christmas. Started well this morning but need to think of something healthy for tea.

Thrifty it tends to be the bushes. Has it been making a squealing noise for a while whilst spinning before breaking down. How old is your washing machine? Mine are going, will see how long it lasts 7 yrs old now but decent make Bosch so probably go with repair as well.

Welsh Kitty so MSE aren't we:D. Yes I have already cancelled my NT membership and will take another one out bit later in yr hopefully getting the discount. My daughter is joining this yr so we could do a family one.

    Today will be a SFD 10/20 :T.

Got an upset tummy all I want to do is go home and sit in a nice warm bath. Not sure whether I should bother eating my lunch or it will make me worse. Try a little bit later (leek and potato soup)

64 pounds off my debt today woo hoo

Read through later when I feel bit better. Keep going less than 2 weeks everyone. :T

    Hope you feel better soon.

And yes, squealing noise etc. so I too think it's the brushes. 5 year old hoover washing machine, 9kg, got it on a good deal back then and def worth a repair first. Seen you can change them yourself but thought for 60 quid I have them checked and done properly. Won't come till Sat though as I don't want to/can't take time off work.

P.S. rubber chicken failed again :(. Had a 1.2 kg chicken, a breast for me, half leg and breast for OH, wings and bits for DS and leg for DD plus plenty of veg. Got enough meat and stock though to maybe make chicken noodle soup and that's it. Need to buy bigger chickens :rotfl: Or stuff it next time (ran out of time to make one).

Thrifty sorry to hear about your dramas. Re rubber chicken. Have you tried stripping to the carcass once cooked and divvying out what you think looks like fair portions for all plus seeing how much meat is left and portioning that for say 2 additional meals whether a chicken salad or chicken pasta or whatever?

    Hi All

Late check in from me. Have been busy all day.

Credit card statement came. It showed min required for the coming month as £31.50. And repayments made in the month before as £480!!! I'm amazed.

Spent some time packing away baby clothes that were too small and charity shop bagging a lot of other stuff. There is a collection tomorrow.

Dinner tonight is home made hamburgers with potato wedges. Looking forward to that.

Oh and found 2p roadkill (with my giant magnet) Calling

Thanks thrifty, that's fantastic :) I will try them ASAP, maybe this weekend as I have frozen roast veg and but no meat to go with it (and its not payday until next Monday). A few Yorkshire puddings would be lovely with roast veg :)

calling - hope you are feeling better this evening. There is a sickness bug going round at the moment, so hope its not that.

Another SFD today :) I have very little money and need to save some for the hospital car park as I am going to visit my gran tomorrow.

Hope you've all had good days

    Another Nsd to claim.

A stressed day at work, but it is over now, and tomorrow is another day.

Another good conversation with dh about money, jobs (near home and lower pay vs much further away and more money).

First big food spend of the month, just short of £30, only 2 ys items but lots of veg. Had to have a taxi home as I could barely lift the big rucksack from the till into the trolley. Just done a quick reckon up of the items that were labelled by weight and came to 18.5 kg (65 l rucksack full but not side and top pockets). About £5 spent on cordial and other treats for DS3.

Wrote a list earlier with things I could make with what I have in the freezer and what I needed to buy, visited the library and have the Jack Monroe book and one with anti-depression (stress and anxiety) recipes as well. Bought more than I intended but 21 items are fresh fruit and veg so lots for salads, veggie recipes and fruit and veg for snacks.

Tackled two phone calls on the list - bulky waste collection will be next month now (however it was apparently 7th May last year so by putting it to 10th May I avoid the fine for more than one collection in the year. Think the building works will involve one or possibly two skips so a few bits will be going in there. If they would let me on the tip I would happily transport things that will fit in the big rucksack but they say I can't go on without a car and I have bits they won't take (not things I brought into the house in the first place).

Poor night's sleep. Went to bed at 11pm or midnight (clock was striking but I didn't count). gave up trying to sleep at 3am and came back down to read inside a quilt sandwich (was very cold). Went back upstairs at about 6.30 am, woke briefly at 9.30 am and then slept solidly until 3pm. Not good.

Today things I am grateful for or which made me happy
dawn chorus - through the poor sleep pattern
lots of reasonable veg (if no ys) to make meals from (+ mince and a big bag of green lentils to go with the half sack of onions I have left)
Lad who answered the phone for the Council was extremely apologetic and also made me feel better as he had slept most of the weekend after going out for a meal (bad habit of my mother's calling him a 'lad' - he was 38 but a mere stripling compared to me
found lots of good books quickly at the library. I do love it when they just seem to fall off the shelf into your arms.
Finished another book - due to lack of sleep
Taxi came after 5 minutes when I had been told it would be half an hour (and SM have moved the bench so i was perched on a Rupert car - Thomas's funnel was in the way.
