Why do people do this?

I reverse in if I'm driving my van because people will just walk behind the vehicle when I'm reversing out of the space, obviously because they are invulnerable to harm and can easily repel a 3 tonne vehicle.
It's got side doors so loading shopping is not an issue.
I drive the car into the space as I can see out of the back window.
What amazes me more is people who walk in the middle of the two sides of the spaces (if you know what I mean) and seem oblivious to a heavy diesel engine vehicle needing to get past.0 -
I always reverse in, but then I never put my shopping in the boot.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0
