Lloyds refuses to give me a contactless debit card...

Could you get a prepaid card that has contactless, like the Optimum card (http://www.myoptimumcard.co.uk/), top that up from the Lloyds account, then use it for your contactless needs?0

The computer decision isn't always right. The bank acknowledges this and has a process in place whereby if the customer meets certain conditions and somebody in a branch is willing to support the case then they would be able to refer to their lending team to authorise a contactless card.
As mentioned above, where the customer is not automatically eligible for a contactless card, this automated decision can (very easily) be overturned by their lending team.
On what grounds?
If their own internal score has decided he is not eligible for a contactless card there must be a very good reason for the lending team to look at it - something like a big lottery win or other windfall.0 -
Use your feet...SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

OK, have I misread the OP then?
Who are 'they' who told the OP recently that the system didn't give them the option and who "didn't seem to care"?
If 'they' were in a branch, why do you advise to go to the branch again?
The person the OP spoke to last time didn't know what they were doing.
If you were to prompt them to check with their lending team (as I suggested in my first post) they would hopefully look up the process to follow.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »On what grounds?

The similar happened to my sister with her TSB account. She has a afew years old default on her credit report. Been to the branch and was told she is not eligible for a contactless card.
Afew days later she decided for 2nd TSB current account online. This accoint came with a contactless card.
Not sure why it wasent offered on 1st accoint but on 2nd account it did. It may be due to external credit search.0 -
Its not TSB.
Your not getting any cashback.
Whats all the fuss about?0 -
Lloyds are a good couple of years behind the curve if that's their policy. Contactless cards are becoming the industry standard for non-basic accounts. Why not do your banking with somebody more progressive, while fulfilling the bare minimum for Club Lloyds etc.: )0
