I have a PIP medical report that says I walked over 200m and up a flight of stairs. They also recon I drive a car and use a taxi when I can't be bothered driving.
Nerve and muscle tests prove otherwise as does my nice letter from the DVLA explaining that they regret to inform me that my cardiac arrhythmia is too unstable and they are not issuing a driving license.
Mandatory reconsideration has passed and the decision maker didn't take into account my MR letter so based the decision on the first decision makers notes so here I am in a 6-9 month queue waiting for a tribunal to actually use their eyes to see that I'm clearly not able to walk and read that the DVLA don't agree with their "medical examiner" and think that I'm a danger on the road.0 -
Going back to the OPs question.., its up to them whether they give a phone number or not. The pro's (being informed of a last minute cancelled appointment) and cons (no unwanted phone calls) have been explained.
Its now up to them.0 -
The man in question said the decision included he could hug his daughter not that hugging his daughter was the ultimate reason for denial.
That claim was mismanaged from the start....The assessor didn't even know he was terminally ill until he informed her. As a terminally ill claimant he should of been awarded it without an assessment, I expect the decision will be overturned very soon.
Based on what? The DWP's track record of efficiency and respect toward clients?0 -
It also said he was found fit for work. The whole article that I read (which may have been different to the one you read) was about him being forced into work. The article read as though he had been turned down for ESA. Even the headline is 'Dying father told he is fit for work after cuddling ill daughter'. PIP isn't about fitness for work.
I'm not having a go at him, I'm having a go at the sloppyness of the reporting.
You should first consider your own prejudice. Nothing in the article is unclear. If you've assumed that it was about ESA, despite no mention thereof, then that's your problem. The story is quite clear. PIP is about fitness for work, it's about independent living including the ability to work since PIP is to help people do that.0 -

You can claim PIP and work.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Please stop feeding the trollPlay nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j0

The OP seems to have a very bad attitude, They don't seem to have a problem discussing things on a public forum. But can't pick up the phone for a couple of minutes calls if needed.
OP You asked for advice, The advice given is that it would probably be beneficial to give a phone number encase something happens that the assessment centre need to contact you, It's also used for DWP to contact you to say if you have passed or not.
If you don't wish to give your number then so be it, Just you worry about your own assessment and claim etc, Instead of trying to go off topic with other assessment situations.0 -

Can you demonstrate an example of this 'bad' attitude?0
