  • Can finally declare NSD2 for Feb!

Ran 5.5 miles tonight....got a good time but boy did I want to stop at certain points. Still got the irritations in my feet so not sure the inserts are going to make much difference :( think the arches of my feet are hitting the side of shoes, must be the way I've been running in them. It's coming to crunch time for training now so not ideal!

Will have a long soak in the bath tonight with my book, had a fairly busy day at work so will be nice to unwind :)
  • Went to the SM last night - I was in a real mood to buy clothes last night for some reason. Went to the clothes bit and picked up some jeans, walked round and bought food for bf and I last night, some chocolate, wine, and food kits for another couple of dinners as they were reduced. Then after I'd been walking around, I decided I wasn't in dire need of new jeans, so I put them back (even though at £18 they weren't expensive). I knew if I did buy them I'd be annoyed at myself.
The total came to £20-ish, but I had £7-ish worth of change which I don't count atm as the change has been accumulated over a long period of time. So total charged to my card was £13.29. Not too bad!

Stomach has been awful overnight, I really need to get back onto the meditation as, placebo or not, I did find my stomach was a lot calmer and a lot less painful when I was doing it every day. I need to run 9 miles either tonight or tomorrow morning, I'd rather get it over with tonight but depends how I feel!

    So glad it's Friday again!
  • So last night I did not run, that was never going to happen with how tired I felt by the afternoon. Instead I went home from work, had a glass of wine and caught up on some tv! Bliss. Yesterday was NSD3 of Feb.

Woke up to a mini snow-storm in my area, did my 9 mile run and it snowed the entire time. Was very cold but glad to get it out of the way. Only 30-ish days until the half-marathon now, will be SO relieved when it's done, these long runs tire me out! I wanted it to be a NSD, but we didn't have anything too exciting in considering how hungry I was after my run, so I walked to a coop that has been opened up in my area, first one within a walking distance to me. It took me 7 minutes to get there (yes I timed it) and bought lunch and signed up for their loyalty card, cost £4.25 total. I use the coop near my work as well so will probably come in handy. I get the feeling I'll be using that store quite often, we have corner shops near me but they don't have a whole lot of variety.

Haven't done much the rest of the day, did some yoga after my run and have showered and got myself presentable for the bf later. I am making fajitas, he's buying the chicken and I'm bringing the veg and fajita kit.

Tomorrow I am off to bf's sister's with his family, she's making lunch (and she doesn't cook so this is a big thing :rotfl:). We are going to a pub beforehand I think, will see if I spend any money or not.

    Anyway, happy Saturday!

I honestly don't know how you run in this weather! Or run at all actually :rotfl: So well done :T

I love that mascara thing, buying 2 so your future self will thank you. It's not hoarding if you're going to use it.......;):D
    Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44 :( Apr 17 - £2500 :) Dec 17 - £560 :) July 18 - £199 :D
CHEFS challenge (Cruise Holiday Entirely Funded by Surveys) - £685.79
Every penny is a prisoner :D
  • Yesterday was NSD4 - we did go to the pub but the bf bought the rounds, I was only on lemonade as I was driving. The meal round bf's sister's was very nice, was nice to spend some time with them. When I got home I finished the last of my wine from Friday :o and watched Arrival. I wanted to see it when it was out at the cinema, but the bf hates sci-fi (even though I would say this is soft sci-fi as it's more philosophical) so I never got to see it. It came up on his friend's server of films so I snuggled down and watched it, really enjoyed it, and actually glad I didn't watch it with him as he probably wouldn't have "got it" :rotfl:

I'm getting my eyebrows done today but I won't count that as a spend as it's already in my beauty fund. Other than that don't think I'll have to spend.

I've made progress with my ReceiptHog app, hoping I can cash out within the next few weeks, if not with coins from receipts but when I get to the next level I'll get enough bonus coins to push me over :D Only £5 but every little helps!

Lol Ena, I did not want to, but it's a case of have to! I've only got a handful of long runs left until my half marathon now, so gotta keep pushing!!

I don't see it as hoarding if I know for sure I'll use it...I use one type of mascara, so if there's a deal on when I have to buy it I'll buy more than one, I'll only have to spend the money later on anyway! But my fave is when I can buy using points
  • So got my eyebrows done last night, very happy with them as usual. My mum's also started having hers done as she wants to make more of herself, think she's hooked now!

Today is Valentine's - I know it's a commercial holiday but it's a nice thing to celebrate I think. We're going to Chimichangas tonight, I've got the bf a card and some chocolate and sweets. I wasn't going to get anything but then he got me something small last minute, so didn't want to be mean lol! Looking forward to it we haven't been to that restaurant in a while.

As the above, today will not be a NSD. There's a couple of books I want to buy, so debating buying them today to combine my spends. I've wanted them for ages and keep putting it off, I think perhaps I'll see how much we spend tonight and then decide! I'll probably chicken out lol.

Last night I started a 7 day to happiness course on my meditation app, I like doing the courses as they keep me going back each night. The first one was about gratitude - I've listened to the gratitude ones before, but for some reason last night it really hit me, I started tearing up and getting v emotional! Although I get down about my skin and other stuff, but I'm actually really lucky and I don't think about it. The app suggested to start a gratitude diary every night, but I was thinking about certain things I am grateful for on the way in to work. This won't be a regular thing, but I think it'll be nice to note down today.

    So I am grateful for:
-I can drive and have a car!
    -I have a job
    -I have a lovely boyfriend
-I am in relatively good health (no serious issues)
-I have family that loves me

That's enough for now I think, but thinking about things like that really helps me put things in perspective, which I need!!!
  • I've just checked my spend diary, and since last Wednesday I've spent under £20! I don't know why but that's really shocking to me (and pleasing! :D) Obviously that will go up with tonight's meal but boy am I happy with myself :rotfl:

Ok I'll go back to work now!!
  • Last night was good, I missed my bus as they pushed it forward 7 minutes (!!! TFL do this all the time) so I had to get an Uber so I wasn't late for our reservation. I got an uber there £9.21, and also an uber home which cost £8.69. I gave my bf £25 towards the meal, and I bought a round of drinks in the pub for £6.21. Total for the whole week is £66.54, which I'm happy with.

I logged onto my help to buy isa today to find I have £85.47 in interest! So I have added that to my deposit fund on here, and it's taken me to over £9k! :D I wanted to hit 9k before this month's payday through small payments, so I've smashed it at £9042.47.

I will have to go shopping today as I have no snacks for work left, and have one lunch left. My mum's away at the moment so also need to get myself something for dinner tonight. So either coop or SM, will see how I feel later on. Also need to do a run - either 3 miles for speed, or 6 miles, and whatever I don't do I'll do instead on Friday.

Feeling a bit hungover, but positive nontheless :rotfl:
  • I'm 25-ish points away from a £5 giftcard on SB, hoping I can claim that tomorrow.

I've been approached by my manager to take over the blog on our sister site, which was up until December being outsourced (expensively!), and which wasn't really relevant to our company. I'm fine with taking it on as I already run the blog for our other site, and apparently they're willing to compensate me each month for it. Knowing my workplace it would be £20 a month, but hey it's better than nothing! Will have a meeting with the MD to see how we both want it to move forward.

Planning to do a 3 mile run for speed tonight. Don't feel like I've got 3 miles in me :o see how I feel later I might have an ald1 Baileys in the bath :rotfl: living the dream
