Thanks Ena, I'm still ill :(

I've had to call in sick today, which isn't very MSE as I don't get paid for sick days....but this morning my throat felt exactly like it did in December when I got laryngitis (sp?) and coudn't talk for near enough a week. Which is no good as I have to answer the phone at work! So I thought rather than push it like I did then, I'll take a day to rest. Not ideal as my colleague is on her own this afternoon but she's fine with it...my manager not so much :o What can you do.

Today will be another NSD as I'm not venturing anywhere, so NSD 4 today.
  • Hi Chica

I hope you start to feel better soon. I hate being ill, especially when it is hot and sunny like it is at the moment.

Look after yourself and dont do to much so you can get over it as fast as possible.

    Take care

Well I'm still ill...went into work against my better judgement, due to staff holidays we're short on people. My other colleague said it sounded like I had laryngitis (yep!) and sent me home immediately. So that's another day of no payment, but it's NSD 5, not that that counts for much if I'm not earning!

Spent the day snuggled with the cats, they love when I'm ill as it means I'm laid down all day lol. Need to go out quickly to pick up a bag that I'd ordered for my mum's bday on Monday.

Tomorrow or Sunday I need to go into town and take back my primark bits, look for some more sandals and skirts and get a card for my mum. Oh and a present for my mum from my little brother lol.

NSD 6, I've pulled out of the half marathon and lost our fee for the air bnb room I'd booked for tonight :( feel a bit better today but not well enough to run 13 miles. Wasn't meant to be. Spent the day at my bf's chilling and watching the football (well he was watching and I was colouring lol). Overall not a bad day. Feel better that I'm on the up now.

Today is the first day that I feel semi-normal. Put makeup on and everything! :D I still have a hideous smell in my nose but I can actually breathe out of it now so that's progress.

We got up early, had breakfast and went into town. Did some damage but I am now happy with my holiday wardrobe, all I need is some new underwear and I'm good to go. Returned my stuff to primark so that's £31 back, then went into Linzi and bought two pairs of the same sandals at £15 each so that cancelled out the primark return. But, one is gold and sparkly and perfect for nighttime, and the other is tan and will be good for during the day/more casual evenings, and I will also be wearing them to work as an alternative to the flats I always wear.
Went into H&M, spent £30 on a pair of denim shorts, patterned soft shorts and a patterned skirt.
Had a coffee which the bf paid for (he had loyalty points to spend) and Sainsburys for some wine and work lunch food, spending £9. Oh and in boots spent £16 but part of that was veet for my bf's back (shhhhhhh don't tell :p).
Had to get a card and gift bag for my mum's bday tomorrow, one card from me and another from my brother who is still too young to go shopping on his own. That was card factory so spent a grand sum of £2.97. I got the money out for her bag that we ordered for her bday, so that's £35 out of my account.
Then went to Halfords as one of my main headbeam bulbs had gone - £16.99 for the bulb and fitting. But that has come out of my car fund (that's why I set it up! :D)

Bit of a naughty spendy day, but I am happy with all the purchases and they will all be good in my usual summer wardrobe once I get home as well. I hate buying stuff only for holiday because I know it will only get worn once or twice!

Taking my mum out for a cheapish meal for her bday tomorrow (have a discount code!) and then eyebrows on Tuesday. Bit worried about funds now, and this isn't helped by the spends today. But, I will just have to work it out. Might not be able to save as much next month, and will probably have to do a no-buy for the whole month. All I really have to spend from now until holiday is eyebrows, hair, leg wax, half a tank of petrol, and food for work. Oh and taxi fare to the airport. :o I thought writing it down would make me feel better, but now I just feel worse lol....first world problems eh.

I've also come to a complete halt on the eb@y side of things....As I'm going away I'm letting my listings run out, and had no takers as it's the dregs left on my account. I've not bothered uploading any new stuff as it's so little time until holiday. Hopefully will get back on it once I come back.
Had a bit of a strange request of a collection in person for a pair of shoes, they wanted to meet me in town (which I don't live on top off so would've been a special trip) and I have a feeling they wanted me to do it on the same day (yesterday). For £4.50. To be honest, and this is for them, with the bus fare (£1.50 each way) and time spent travelling (30 mins each way in their own words) they might as well have spent £3.35 on the postage. As it was I felt a bit uncomfortable about it, so I said it was postal or nothing. They didn't bother replying so that's that. They'd opened their account in June and had 2 transactions which was a major flag to me before I even replied to them. Maybe I'm a big cynic but the reason I like eb@y is I don't have to deal with people that much! I deal with customers enough in my day job I cba to do it in my personal life too:rotfl:

I think you did the right thing with that buyer, sometimes it's just not worth it for the hassle.

    Hope you're feeling better :)

Thanks Ena, feel so much better in myself. Still a bit snotty but I'll take that over how I felt last week lol.

Had a !!!!!! day, boss made both me and my colleague cry. He usually doesn't get me to that point of upset but today I couldn't take it. Sadly not a one-off occurrence.

Getting my eyebrows done later, and them perhaps dinner with the bf. His parents are back from hols tomorrow so last weeknight sleepover lol.

Gonna see if I can squeeze in a workout before I go off and get my eyebrows looking normal again.

    Have a good evening everyone!
