Milasaves, I am so shocked to read about your son. I cannot even begin to imagine how you feel as it's beyond my experience but as a fellow mother I have empathy. It is no small wonder you are on meds and I agree, some people either have a chemical imbalance or they develop it through trauma. I'm also in that category and like you am reconciled to taking the meds having also had a few disastrous attempts to come off them. Crashed and burned!!

On the weight front I've got about 46lbs to lose and it will be a medium to long haul challenge but very well worth it in health terms. I'm glad you are ready to join me! It'll do us both good. Posting our weight loss on here will be really motivtional!!

Thank you for cheering me on in my endeavours!

Today was a great day at school. All my classes were well behaved and a change in seating plan seems to have nipped some hassles in the bud. If you don't get the right chemical mix of children behaviour can be like getting an octopus into a string bag. I also stuck to my food points so am feeling positive!!!

Five weeks to go until the GCSE year go off on study leave and then I can get on with planning next year's lessons for the brand new GCSE and A levels. Cheers govt.... I really needed the extra work... not!

Am off to bed really early tonight as I hardly slept last night. Had a really weird dream that my earlobes were flaking off and then flowers started growing out of the earring holes!!!!! If there are any dream interpretors out there feel feel to have a bash at that one!!

This is my second NSD and sixth AFD so doing well on both counts. I hope you've all had a really good day and speak to you tomorrow. x

  • Glad you've had a good first day back HJ.

Sorry for your loss mila. My Dad passed away due to alcoholism related liver failure so I know how devastatingly wasteful it feels. It must be even worse when it is your child :( Xx

    Thank you, HJ and please-let-.
My son was 36 yrs, a grown man. He was single and so didn't leave a family. I look for the blessing wherever I can.

I am happy that we can lose weight together and post here. Great idea!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hey there Peeps!! Just checking in for my 7th AFD and third NSD. Longest I've gone without either in many many moons so I'm really pleased. It's lovely to see visitors to my thread. I get worried that people think it's really boring but then that's my life!!

Had a good time at school today but had to send one girl out as she was too disruptive. She did her revision outside and the rest settled. Only takes one stroppy pupil to set off the others. It's like a mexican wave of disgruntlement and teenage hormones. Nine times out of ten I use a killer one liner to stop any hassle or have a quiet word in private but she'd gone too far. Sometimes I feel like a sort of female Jason Statham! Actually most of the time I just feel like him!!! (Yup, he's on my mythical list of future husbands. I'm sure he's pining for an older larger woman!!;))

Today was a good but slightly hungry day. I've stuck rigidly to my points but am feeling rather peckish. I think it's sheer boredom to be honest so I'm going to get a good book and slope off to bed.

The frozen meals I made are really making a difference in the evenings by the way! I had spag bol tonight and have taken out two portions of chicken casserole for tomorrow evening. We'll have it with new potatoes bought last week (so no longer quite new) and mixed veg from the freezer. Job done.:T:T

Meeting my friend for a tea/coffee tomorrow and going to see one sister and the Aged Ps as well so it'll be a sociable day. Really looking forward to it.

Hope the sun's been shining where you are! It's been gorgeous down here but due to rain tomorrow.:(

    Today I'm grateful for....

The sunny day we've just had.
Good books and a warm bed.
    Hope for the future!

You're doing so well. Love the energy in your posts! Infectious and inspiring!

I have two teenagers and have worked for many years in and around schools (but never a teacher ;)) so your descriptions of your classes made me chuckle...octopus into a string bag...very apt description, love it!

Thanks Brizzle! You are a tonic and very supportive.:T

Pupils are hilarious and I have endless fun with them. :rotfl: I wish I'd become a teacher years ago but I still had a good time in HR. A sense of humour is essential as well, the teachers who get very very stressed are sometimes the ones who take every single thing way too seriously. My favourite lessons for year 9 start next week - sex education!!! Or should I call it 'RE teacher's revenge'?:eek: The STD lesson is my favourite!! All the cool guys start to look rather green around the gills! Bless them.:D

It's nice to talk to someone else who works in education. It's a strange world. I feel like I've never left school and love stupid things like filling out my new diary each year and seeing what classes I have. I think I like being institutionalised! It's either teaching or prison for me.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Good morning good morning!!:j:j

Happy day today as the CSA money has come in and I've updated YNAB. :D I made it through without going over what I'd allocated and am feeling proud feelings!:rotfl:

So £248.67 in but it only brings me to overdrawn by £25. Ooops to March overspending legacy. However, I am not dismayed as I have YNAB to help me. He's like a knight in shining armour but without me having to polish it (the dirty armour!! Hehehehe!) and cook him meals.:T

I have allocated the following on YNAB to take us through to the 25th when I get paid.

    Two Saturday weekly shops £40
Two Saturday Petrol for the week £50
One top up Petrol if I need it as only put fifteen in this week £10
Two Saturday DD weekly allowance £10
Ents so I don't feel deprived and go mad!! £10
    Wwatchurrs £14

That totals £134 and I am going to stick to it. :)

The reason the weekly shop is so low is the freezer meals I've made. We will only have to get the fresh stuff and top up things like pasta, rice and bread for the storecupboard.

It will be tight and I've not allocated anything on the budget for emergencies. If they come up I shall just have to deal with it!!

Two weeks CHB will come in between now and payday. As I'm going to leave that alone the net spend will be £94 over the two weeks. :)

All told that will put my overdraft at a far more respectable £119 and I will just adjust my budget for May. The reduced cost of food will cover a fair portion.

In other breaking news I am doing Active Moaning with my Sis2 this morning. This is great fun!! It's basically getting as much done round your house as possible while drinking your favourite beverage instead of sitting around wasting three hours and getting overwhelmed by all the carp you have left to sort out when your guest goes home!! We're off to the dump today.. muchos excitement!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Then I'm off to Crawley for more socialising with a dear friend who's married to one of my dept colleagues. Garden Centre here I come!!!:T

I hope you'll have a wonderful day in RL. It's sunny here and it looks like it'll stay that way for the day.

    Today I'm grateful for

Greying Pilgrim who was the first forumite I followed . I hope she is well and happy with DP.
Sunshine on my face at last.
YNAB and MSE :money: for helping me change my attitude to money
