Hi there, just read this from start to finish. I'm from west sussex originally and got into debt because of the whole Loreal train of thought.

Anyway just wanted to wish you luck. I am also on medication for mental health conditions and know how tough things can be.

Florence J. How nice to meet you and thank you for posting. Wobbly brains as I call mine are horrid. I hope yours is under control.

I find that I need to live quite a simple life, not be too spontaneous, eat regularly and get plenty of sleep otherwise I can quickly go downhill. When I go through a depressive phase I retreat into doing just the essentials. For me that is doing my job well and my DD. The housework and a degree of self care goes for a Burton and I sleep a lot until things get better.

I'm on a 20mg dose of citalopram. Used to be higher but it's lowered since going four days a week. I used to earn £15k more but rather fell apart. Now have more money because I manage better on less as I'm not stressed. Weird!!

As part of my money saving efforts my banks and building society know about my depression and the effect it has on my spending. They won't end me any money or extend my overdraft and my mortgage is capped so I can't borrow more. I've also told the car loan people. For me this has really helped and I feel more in control as a result.

If these ideas help anyone else then super!! I also decided when I was a little girl that optimism is a far better way of approaching life than pessimism so I do tend to try to be upbeat and positive. If nothing else it confuses people who think depressive people should look miserable all the time!!!! If only they could see inside my head!!!

I truly hope you are getting the help you need when you need it. Nite nite. Xx

Hello have been keeping up with you and do enjoy how you write. Just wanted to say you might want to read one of my fave blogs- if you havent yet found her - lovely grey day:living coloufully between black and white. She lived in her motorhome with her son last year and now lives in her house in Devon again. She also writes about her own ups and downs with mental health and best of all she is a really good writer and makes me smile with some of the things she does. Look her up. Sorry cant post a link for some reason. Good luck.

Morning!! It's a really windy wet and miz day so far but I'm having a very stubborn lie in with a cat at my feet!! DD is still asleep having revised until the small hours. Her sleep patterns have never been good so I tend to leave her if she's been up late.

Angela, that was such an encouraging post and thank you for the blog details. I will definitely look her up!!

Nowso, I had a wonderful surprise this morning. Ten whole pounds paid into my current account by PayPal!!!!! It's a refund and I'd forgotten about it. That means that at four thirty this pm, somewhere in the south of England a rather "Junoesque" lady is going to take everything off that isn't essential clothing and get weighed at weight watchurrs!:eek:

I'm really chuffed I can start today and it'll give me an incentive to get the rest of our term time meals cooked and frozen. I will update my Sig with the gruesome news later. Whatever it is my goal weight is eleven and a half stone. I'm five foot nine AND A HALF and at this age my face looks wrinkly without some fat to plump it out.:rotfl:

Rightyho, I'm off to leap into the shower like a gazelle!! See you all later and hope your MSE day is a success.:T

Hello Lucky and friends. Well, I have been weighed and I am 14st 10 and a half pounds.:eek:

Sooooooo, I am on a journey of weightloss and fitness as well as all the rest and am laden down with the free pack they give you. It has all the points in it for ingredients and basic foods so I am okay with all the homemade food I'm making. The leader is really nice as well and around my age so I'm not intimidated!!:)

So that's £6.95 spent along with £1.50 on a cup of tea at the leisure centre where I met my sister today. We now have £35.60 left until next Thursday and I'm quite comfortable with this as there's nothing needed apart from basic stuff on Saturday. I've paid DD her £5 early and I shall have enough money to pay for petrol to and from work until the CSA comes in.

Also my wonderful book has arrived. 1975 Mary Berry freezer cook book for £2.81 from Amaz0n. I'm just settling down to read it while my tea is in the oven - the same as yesterday!!! It has scrummy recipes in it and everything is for freezing. I haven't done anything much today about the cooking but me and DD are up early tomorrow for her revision and my marking so I have resolved to do it then. :A

Lucky, have people told you in the past that you 'carry the weight well' because of your height? Really bugs me when people do that!!

Righto everyone, I'm reading Bezza's book now and planning meals. Have a peaceful evening all of you. xx

    Today I'm grateful for

Hello HJ - I rejoined WW in January. I originally got to goal 14 years ago but recently put it back on. Only a stone to lose thankfully but it's so hard. Only lost 4lb so far but determined to stick with the plan.

You sound very motivated at the moment :)

Hi again, I am on 40mg of citalopram plus some recently increased anti psychotics! But like you i have always looked on the positive side of things and it doesn't take much to make me happy. :)

I am too in a 'chub club', but i'm with the other side-slimming world. I am ever so slightly shorter than you but many more stone in weight :(

I feel so in control of my finances now but am still quite badly in debt, but i'm calmer with spending, useful since i can't spend anything, but i no longer seem to be on the lookout for that shiny object that will make everything better.

I hope DD's tire gets fixed soon.
