Yes it was only 2 years old with a 3 Year Warranty.

If that is the case it's been miss-represented as the manufacturer has confirmed to you that the warranty is now invalid.

Their offer of honouring the 'warranty' is just a way of fobbing you off in my opinion. What they are offering is far from the real manufacturer's warranty. I strongly advise that you take expert advice on this one. And that dosn't necessarily mean relying on the CAB. You need to consult with someone with specific knowledge of the motor trade.

Ask them to provide and pay for a manufacturer's extended warranty. If they refuse then reject the car, as your are entitled to do.

    Why?

That won't be valid either as the first service was late.

When looking at cars recently I found loads of ex Lease and ex Contract Hire cars with late services.

A symptom of the way people think about cars these days?

If Mptorpoint are going to provide the same coverage as Nissan till the end of year three then the OP has lost nothing.

And Nissan can only invalidate the warranty on items that would have been affected by the overdue oil change

I wonder if the OP phoned a local Nissan dealer to ask about warranty validity or Nissan Customer Services.

The vehicle does have service history though, pity the first owner was less than vigilant.

Usually manufacturers are fine as long as the service is done within 1 month or 1000 miles.

I doubt it has done any thing to the engine.

First step is to get it in writing from Nissan UK that the warranty is invalid.

first of all to reject the car you need to demonstrate a breech of law in what you are saying, you were asked directly at post 10 if the car was advertised as having a "manufacturers" warranty.
A judge would not bother to elucidate on this like I am doing.
If it was advertised as having 3 year warranty (not stated as manuf's) and motorpoint have agreed to honour that there is no breech there.
Advertising a car with "service history" there was some, maybe not full but was that specified in writing anywhere?

just playing devils advocate to help you see the path ;)

Nissan say the warranty is invalid.
Motorpoint say they will take responsibility for the Warranty but when we change the car it will be without the Nissan Warranty.

Can you confirm that Nissan UK themselves confirmed this in writing

Or did you contact a Nissan Dealer? A Nissan Dealer is only a Franchise, and the advice given by many "Service Advisors" can often be rubbish.

They can't invalidate anything not directly connected to the service, likely just an oil and filter change with a vehicle checklist ticked off.

If the AirCon compressor packs up how can they say it was caused by an overdue oil change.

I suspect your Juke was on a 24 Personal Contract Hire (Non Maintenance) such as some of the cars sourced via Lings Cars.

Lots of Main dealers are often idiots, my Picanto just had its second service, first owner saved a few pence by using a non Kia Garage, the Kia dealer put it in writing on the device receipt that the car had a non standard oil filter.

They also said it was loose and leaking, which it wasn't as I had been underneath the car a few days earlier out of curiosity as Inwanted to see how easy it would be to change the oil, the lack of any oil whatsoever on the drive was also a giveaway.

Motorpoint may well honour the 3 year warranty but when the engine blows up at 4 years you will have no chance of good will from Nissan as a vital part of engine maintenance was not carried out at the correct time earlier.

I'll be brutally honest I doubt the overdue oil change has made any difference to the lifespan of this vehicles engine.
