My test is in a few hours and I'm not sure if I'm nervous, I'm more nervous about the 2 hour lesson before the test!

My husband took me driving over the weekend and said my driving was good, he thought id be worse but said I got the clutch control quick as its a petrol car, then yesterday I went out with the other instructor to do a mock test.

I failed it because I was signalling first before checking mirrors when it's check mirrors first THEN signal. Oops at least I can change that.

So it boosted my confidence a lot, the other instructor said I was safe and my roundabouts were good (no marks for them in the mock test) if my instructor wants to have ago today I'll just have to tell him to stop it really doesn't help, and to start helping not just telling me off. Gonna have to stick up for myself today...

MSM - Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre. One of the most basic concepts, one that you should have had instilled on you in about the first lesson.

Absolutely! I'm very surprised that someone would get to the day of their test without that concept having become automatic.

I have been learning to drive since October I've put in over 50 hours my test is booked end of March I've rebooked it once did to my instructor saying I was not ready.

Now we are getting close to the test date I have been doing intense lessons of 4 hours a day and last week he told me to re-book my test as no way I was ready.

Guess what....I passed! With only one minor:T
I was so nervous my legs were shaking! I only did one menuver which was turn in the road.

We took a completely different route from what I had practiced because of some emergency gas or water works. ( so keep things like that in mind if you have an upcoming test )

I thought I had done around 4 mistakes but the mistake I did do, I didn't realise until I was told at the end but it was so minor.

My instructor didn't talk much, he told me before the test to imagine him as a satnav ???

The show me tell me questions were how to de mist Windows and how to know ABS is working.

My instructor was happy, told me to write him a review online. I told him I'd think about it, I don't want to hold a grudge against him. Even my examiner said he was a tough one.

I sent a text to the other instructor to say I passed and thanked him for taking me out the day before. Without him I surely would not have had any confidence in myself.

Did have to tell my instructor before the 2 hour lesson not to shout at me for mistakes just said help me fix them and he agreed. Shouldn't really have to ask someone not to shout at you...
He took me around the whole test route and I was shocked he could do that...but because of the emergency work we didn't even go that way!

I also didn't realise other people are having their test the same time as me, there were five of us all looking nervous at the test centre. I heard only two of us passed. I'm not sure which way the others went because I never saw them around the roads during the test.
When we got back close to the test centre traffic was crazy the other side of the road and when we were going home we were stuck in a 30 min standstill. So happy I didn't have to drive back.

Instructor asked examiner about how it went and he said I was a good safe driver. I'm so pleased its over, I thought I wouldn't pass but I proved myself and the instructor wrong!

    Brilliant! Well done :)

Now, put all that behind you and practise being a safe and confident driver.

Well done - the number of driver faults is always a good indication of how good the drive was, and 1 df isn't all that common...

Had your instructor not explained that you just do one mano on test? The banging noise is my head on the desk - it has only been six years since it changed from 2 reversing manoeuvres to 1.

He can't do that because he doesn't know what the test routes are. At any given time a test centre will typically have at least 10 routes in operation and they change every few months. We know typical routes which have been used before, but have no idea what route you will get on the day.

Again, why he hasn't told you this I have no idea.

I think I would be tempted...
