"We're".....attempting to speak on behalf of all Scots again are we? Pretty sure a number of posters have told you not to do this.

    Don't worry too much Mollycat.
From the looks of this thread alone, more and more posters are at least occasionally voicing their disagreement with the stance taken by Shakey & co.
    . . . . . .

The SNP have been responsible for education for years.
    This is the result:
The EIS-Further Education Lecturers Association and union leaders claim the Colleges Scotland Employers’ Association, have failed to honour a deal agreed last year.

..We're not daft you know. We know what's likely to happen with Barnett....

Well at least I do. In the long term, the application of the Barnett formula will remove the subsidy to Scotland. It's called the Barnett squeeze.
.... This is another thing Scots voters really do need to be aware of should a second independence referendum occur.

The most important thing that Scots voters really do need to be aware of should a second independence referendum occur, is that a 'Yes' vote will result in the loss of that £8bn a year subsidy, and that any hypothetical independent Scotland will have to grapple with a 9.5% fiscal deficit.

..Between 2009-2014 Scotland contributed over £17bn to service the debt of Westminster's atrocious management...

Since I have already shown that Scotland has been running larger fiscal deficits over the past eighteen years, I think you'll find it's the other way around; it's English taxpayers who are contibuting billions to service Scottish debt.

Indeed you do. Barnett consequentials means that Scotland will get an extra £5.49bn to spend on something.

Can't we just run a bus service to Gretna and brand it a pan-Britain project?

Even a heavily biased gers report can't back your claims...

It wouldn't surprise me one bit going by the BS Westminster are publishing and pushing through the press.

We all know Westminster would fight tooth and nail to slime out of paying it.

We all know nothing of the sort. The one thing that we do all know is that if Scotland votes to leave the Union, HS2 will never be extended into Scotland.

Just looked at the map and theres no change.
HS2 is never planned to extend to Scotland.

I understood even the conceptual HS3 only goes to Manchester , Leeds, Liverpol etc.

I've been wondering lately how many people outside Scotland actually care any more whether or not Scotland leaves the UK.

I grew up taking for granted that the United Kingdom was exactly that without really thinking too much about it. It's only in the last few years that I even became aware of the Barnett formula or that Scotland was disproportionally represented in the hated Westminster.

It's even more recently that I became aware of the constant bellyaching of the SNP about how badly done to they were by Westminster i.e. the democratically elected government of the whole of the UK which as far as I can see has gone out of its way to provide financial support to its poorer neighbour to the north. My dog has more gratitude when I feed it.

I've now got to the point where I'm heartily sick of the SNP and if it's the case that the majority of Scots want independence, rUK should wish them well, cut them loose and get on with taking care of our own affairs. Give them another referendum but make it clear that there won't be another one - ever.

In what way do you believe that Scotland is dis-proportionally represented in Westminster?

How many MP's do you believe should represent Scotland?
