About time. these SNP MPs have been an absolute disgrace in Westminster since day one.
It's laughable that we are represented by this calibre of "politician".
To most people in Scotland these people are a complete embarrassment.0 -
It's hilarious that some posters here feel the SNP MP's who have utter disdain for Westminster are treated badly. I think they're treated well, I'd call them seditious and would treat them and reprimand them far worse.0

To compound the embarrassment my MP is amongst the worst of the lot!!
Voters of Dundee East, hang your heads in shame0 -

Does this mean that you have finally accepted that your claim that EFTA/EEA is transitional option "until independence and Brexit is sorted out" is not possible, and that it is both stupid and wrong?
I only ask, because for some strange reason you haven't mentioned that at all.:)
P.s. There is no two year time limit on any hypothetical Scotland-UK independence deal. It will take as long as it takes. I am inclined to think that it will take longer to unwind a 310 year union than a 45 year union. Particularly since one of the parties will have to put a lot of effort and money into creating the infrastructure to operate as an independent state. You might think different.Shakethedisease wrote: »...No reason to think an independent Scotland won't be able to do the same leaving the UK...
But why waste the time if the plan is to sign up to the EEA asap. You will only have to junk the deals as soon as you do. Why would anyone else want to waste time on a free trade deal with Scotland if it's only going to last a few years.Shakethedisease wrote: »... Salmond in particular has been visiting EFTA countries quite routinely over the last 6 months.
With any luck he might have actually listened to what they were saying. Both Norway and Iceland have made very clear statements about the need to be an independent state in order to join EFTA.Shakethedisease wrote: »...Those fishing grounds eh.. lots of Single Market participants with huge interests there. Hopefully Westminster will do as Ruth Davidson is alluding to and make a power grab for them. It will be a most unpopular move and Sturgeon would do well to sit back for a bit and let them go for it over riding Holyrood's express wishes... then call a referendum.
Why would the UK make a "power grab" for something it already has? There are already pretty well established maritime borders in the North Sea. Here are some useful maps if you are unclear about this.

Quotas etc for actual fishing are currently set by the EU. Obviously when and if the UK leaves the EU, that issue will be covered by whatever agreement is reached. I wouldn't imagine that existing EU members will be granted more access, so I can't see there being less fish for British fishermen.
P.S. Fishing isn't part of the 'single market'. It's in the EU CFP, which is something quite separate.0 -

Do you ever actually watch the proceedings ?0 -

Do you ever actually watch the proceedings ?
Yep. Cringe inducing watching these people making a fool of themselves week after week at PMQs.
And what Tricky Tree said; actively seeking the country (and therefore the people who populate it), to fail in order to further their bankrupt ideology.0 -
I wonder if you would feel that way if the Tories or labour were treated the same0
