I understand you don't like the idea of Brexit, but come on... without checking this reads like hyperbolic misrepresentation.
Here's a Daily Mail article. I'm not finding any more for you because I'm busy with girls and things.

This is an excellent metaphore for Brexit. An expensive, pointless exercise that we can't afford, that solves none of the problems we face, and is designed to appeal to purple faced Telegraph readers.
Who's the purple faced reactionary?
1) He who clings to the past, to an old idea, to familiarity, terrified of change, afraid of autonomy and independence? He that went along with the Establishment and big Banks?
2) He who embraces change, unafraid of autonomy and not wedded to familiarity, prepared to give something new a go, willing to face down the Establishment with courage and stead fast resolve?0 -

The sticking point is, that Brexiteers by and large don't appear to be offering anything new.
To put it baldly, Remainers are half of Gen X (a 50/50 split) with a massive majority for Remain as you get higher up the generational tree.
Brexiteers are middle aged or elderly, who appear to want to turn the clock back to 1950, where a peach was a luxury item, you had to employ a secretary called Mavis to handle the admin it required to import one from France, you needed a passport stamp to go to France to inspect the peaches you wanted to certify for import, and a flotilla of British ships sailed around the globe protecting overseas interests that were already rapidly disappearing.
The rest of us don't want to go back to this, and fail to see how it implies progress of any sort.
It doesn't LOOK like progress. It looks like stupidity based on some sepia tinted longing for a time that never really existed,0 -
Police Scotland - SNP FAIL
NHS Scotland - SNP FAIL
Agriculture - SNP FAIL
Education - SNP FAIL
I'm struggling to think of any success?0 -
You always run the country down.
Also why do NASA use TRIED N TESTED OLD AND RELIABLE computer software?
Think for yourself, stop regurgitating tired standard old lines.
I have a pro recording studio with all latest gear in it. I use Windows XP (just updating to Windows 7), because it works and is tried n tested and not full of problems and not trying to do too much. Lots of producers use this same tried a tested software. It's why the Space Shuttle used ancient MSDOS and other old platforms.
You act as if the people in charge of building these ships are dummies and don't spot the obvious stuff a master planner like you does. I guess you could win more matches than your teams Manager, just as all armchair experts imply.
As to one of these ships being for spares, honestly it's not worth even debating such silly myths.
No I don't. There are plenty of things that are great about the UK.
Brexiteers and their isolationist tendencies are not one of them however.0 -
The SNP in trouble again, this time for not making EU CAP payments on time:The devolved administration is on course to miss the Friday's midnight deadline of paying 95.24% of common agricultural policy (CAP) subsidies to farmers.
A total of only 90% of payments are expected to be made in Scotland but the UK as a whole is set to make the threshold.
The department for the environment, food and rural affairs (DEFRA) has paid 99.2% of CAP subsidies in England.0 -
So RUK saves the incompetent Scottish Government's !!!! once again
I have noticed it has been a bit quiet here lately (the same with Nicola Sturgeon, great not seeing her on every news report)0 -
The Russians are pouring scorn on Conrad's carrier! They say it is a giant target. They laughed at us about Brexit too.
How long will proud Scots put up with this? How can they have begun to vote Tory?0 -

*Note to self: must pay attention to Putin & co.*
Like some posters in these forums, "the Russians" largely seek only to sow the seeds of discord.
Divide and conquer, see?
Though they don't seem to realise that the strategy hasn't worked in the past hundred years or so and therefore is unlikely to work now.
Scots voted for Labour and LibDem as well as Tory and SNP you know; you maybe didn't realise if you're south of the border.
Don't you find it odd that there are so many proud Scots, yet you don't often see a proud Englishman?
I wonder if you might explain for us here in the Scottish thread why that is, if you can?0 -
They laughed at us about Brexit too.
Did they? Do you have anything to back up this absurd statement?
The Russians are currently have problems with (in my view) unfair trade sanctions ergo they will be really quite keen on brexit.
You really need to try harder and stop spouting total tosh.0
