I am English and you know where I live.
But on last nights debate I posted elsewhere the following.

    The TV debate is over.
Amber Rudd did OK and frankly I suspect May would have struggled.
Corbyn hardly put a foot wrong and once again proving he is not the man described in the media.
Great performances by Tim Farron, Caroline Lucas of the Greens and Angus Robertson of the SNP.
Welsh lady faded as time went on and Paul Nuttal the racist was Paul Nuttal the racist.

I want to add for this Scottish audience that I was not aware of Angus Robertson but I was very impressed by him last night. He came across as solid, clever and knowing his subject. He represented Scotland very well.

You obviously don't watch PMQ, where on a weekly basis Mr Robertson consistently presents as rude, aggressive, grudge ridden and more interested in point scoring than advancing any realistic agenda.

Of the 50+ embarrassing individuals who represent Scotland at WH, he is by far the most odious.

He doesn't represent Scotland or the majority of Scots in any way shape or form.

Not surprisingly, I do have a differing view than you.

Maybe those interested could form their own opinions, theres plenty of youtube clips

Also some interesting comments on twitter, plenty seem to agree with myself and gfplux

Hey guys, not Scottish myself but couldn't be more delighted+grateful for SNP being a strong opposition in WM. 👏
The great heroes of our time @AngusRobertson and @MhairiBlack no one else panics Westminster like them, in the best way #GE2017
Ineffective? More than impressed with Angus taking the fight to the Torys.SNP are the opposition party in westminster

I've often said he's the real opposition at PMQs - far more incisive & probing than Corbyn!

He is a thorn in the Tory side and as such they would love to see him replaced. Hopefully he will be calling them to account for a long time

Angus Robertson is effectively the only real opposition in Westminster.

In 2015, the polls were indicating a Hung Parliament, recent polls suggest similar.
So will the Conservatives rally as a result of the recent polls to again secure a majority, else will we see the hung parliament expected in 2015.
What we do not seem to be seeing is the increased majority TM was hoping for.

Labour is still stuffed in the traditional heartlands. The SNP have helped in this regard, oddly.

Maybe working class voters are indeed waycist. Hamish could be right. If they are, Corbyn isn't the answer is he?

Andrew Neil likes Angus....doesn't stop him making mincemeat of his arguments though.

Still, I prefer affable socialists like Angus compared to bad tempered lefty louts like Prescott.

Someone who admits he had not "been aware" of Angus Robertson previously, posting that he "represented Scotland well".

For the umpteenth time, the SNP do not speak for Scotland.

Maybe he represented himself and his constituency well....but he's about to be an ex-member of parliament anyway! :)

    Care to share Saturday's numbers?

It's true the Conservatives are targetting his seat and I believe because they do not like his voice in Westminster and see it as a major scalp.

Moray has been SNP since 1987 and would need an 18.59% swing from SNP to Conservative.

    Interestingly
    Angus Robertson election 2001 = 10,076 30.3%
    Angus Robertson election 2005 = 14,196 36.6%
    Angus Robertson election 2010 = 16,273 39.7%
    Angus Robertson election 2015 = 24,384 49.5%

So he is doing well in his constituency and turnout may be a huge factor next week

for those directly interested, there's a recording of the Moray Constituency debate here

  • Despite Tory setbacks following what has so far been a poor campaign, even the latest polls show Tories making gains in Scotland:
Data of those certain to vote, compiled by Ipsos MORI, gives the SNP 43% of the vote, falling from their high of 50% at the 2015 Westminster election.
The survey shows support for Scottish independence has dropped since a previous poll in March this year.
Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson received a higher satisfaction rating than First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in the survey.

    Hmmmmmm.
This poll, shows that the Tories gains are level with Labour on 25%

This from a position where they were well ahead of Labour.

So in effect, it appears that the Tories are losing previously gained ground.

Its even on all their leaflets

    tmbanner.jpg

This would suggest the Tories are down 8% from 33% to 25%

    Is or was?
Should we remind you of the swing to the Conservatives in the council elections - which although obviously not directly comparable may perhaps be an indicator of how the land lies. ;)
    May 2017 here:

Compare if you wish to 2012 here:

    And that is news how?
It has been widely-publicised all week how P*$$ poor the Tories campaign has been and yet still - STILL - they look like making inroads into what have been SNP strongholds.
It shows just how poor the SNP have been.
