Living out of my store cupboard & freezer, how little can I spend to feed my family?

They sound yummy.....don't tempt me ......I'm supposed to be on a diet for my son's wedding.:rotfl:0

This morning for breakfast we had croissants which I got for 10p a pack. I cut them open and placed a little Easter egg choc inside and microwaved to make pain au chocolat. Tonight we are having sausages from the freezer with a veg style sauce that I am making from peppers, onions, cougette and apples. This will go with rice.0

OMG! STOP!! I'm trying to follow slimming world :rotfl: Tonight I am using up some Pork from the freezer for a Pork and Cider casserole (I did have to buy the Cider though), I'm going to use up any wilting bits of veg in the fridge so it might not completely follow the recipe but hopefully it will still be nice.0 -

Using bits and pieces, I melted some oil, honey and frozen raspberries in a pan, tipped in some muesli and bound it all together with an egg, the made it into biscuit shapes and broke up some of the littlies Easter eggs and put them on top, really scrummy! And using up bits that have been languishing for months!!!
Excellent use of what you have and you have made it into something that will be eaten. Good job!!! :T:
My son wants to to cook with me tonight. He lives with us (Aspergers) and is learning to cook. So we will make buffalo chicken nuggets (bought frozen) over a big salad with ranch dressing. This gives me the opportunity to help him with life skills and I can use up lots of veggies. Win!!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

LOL, i am battling the bulge too Sharronej, so you are in good company! We'll just have to smell the cookie fumes from here
Dinner tonight is 'IFIT'S'..as in'IF IT'S in the freezer, it gets cooked' :rotfl:
It's the kids favourite dinner, as they get to eat loads of processed junk! So i just clear the freezer of any processed food (battered chicken, battered fish, chips etc) that's already opened with just a few pieces in the packets remaining, and serve with chips and spaghetti hoopsNo judgement here please! I only do it once a month..:o
For me, i think i am going to have something really light. Probably some zoodles and broccoli fried in garlic, with some sweet chilli sauce and coriander over the top. Sounds random, i know, but i have been thinking of it for the last hour and just really am craving it!0 -
I'm trying to give up milk in my coffee - has anyone else done this? How long before I enjoy a cup of coffee again? :rotfl:0

Yes, i did it last year when i went vegan for 10 months and am thinking about doing it again. In my experience, it took about 2 months. But i could never stomach cups of tea without milk!0 -
Hey everyone! Wow you're all doing so well! On the coffee front, I tried, I tried it with coconut oil, butter, almond milk, coconut milk and soya milk, but unless it was filter coffee which I drink black anyways, I just can't stomach Instant without milk! Random.
I have made onion porridge and rice pudding for dinner, along with the yogurt jelly thing I posted a couple of days ago, but that's still setting.
Feeling a little bit pleased with myself, that I'm cooking proper meals out of nothing!! The rice pudding was made out of value long grain rice, milk, icing sugar and vanilla, tastes nice and looks pretty good too!!!0 -
Wanttobese, how did you get in being vegan. I gave dairy up for lent a few years ago, but had to go to hospital unexpectedly and was desperate for a cuppa, so ended up thinking !!!!!! it!0
