Living out of my store cupboard & freezer, how little can I spend to feed my family?

Never had a fail with that recipe
Don't know if you get clotted cream there, it's very thick and rich. I just use double cream whisked with touch of vanilla if for a special occasion but usually just butter and jam
Left over yorkies are nice spread with jam as well. Very traditional0 -
I should ideally eat of my cupboards and freezers they are both overflowing with reduced stuff.
Last week bought 12 chunks of cheese for 25p each.
I have been craving chicken for months but freezer is so big I can't find it! Must be at the bottom shows how big my freezer is!
.
Well done on the cheese I would have done exactly the same.
I bought 2pints x7 last week at 29p and in the freezer they went it was blue top which I don't normally buy but I knew I read on the forum somewhere people had added water and it was nice so I've done this and added half a pint of water to them after I've defrosted.
I too was having trouble with my chest freezer so I did a swop for a tall upright and then managed to get a small one for £30. It's so much easier to organise. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0 -

You can serve them with stew in the centre if you do large ones. Also put a dollop of mash potato and sausage and onion gravy in the middle too.Why pay full price when you may get it YS0 -

Mongolian beef (left over roast beef) and broccoli (desperately needs to be used), with mushrooms, carrots and onion. All over rice.
Maybe some egg drop soup...
I found some bacon buried in my freezer and had some with scrambled eggs this morning. My husband always cooks breakfast.:D
I'm starting to see real progress in cooking out of my stores in the freezer.:j
My various shelves and pantry are still an overloaded disaster.:eek:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I used the lumpy mash to make some savory potatoe cakes. I chopped some red bell and green onion, added it with an egg and a bit of flour, breaded both sides with panko and saut!ed. It was really good with the freezer stored HM red chile (red jalepano) pork veg stew I had dug out. It's a version of posole I had made for my husband because he doesn't like hominy. I replaced that with white navy beans and he was a happy man.Overprepare, then go with the flow.
