Loads of well dones for everyone :j:j:j
MU, that's an amazing achievement.
Pyxis too, that's a lot to give up!!
I think the only ones I could manage would be drinks with added sugar and panna cotta, but I don't like either of them
SDW, I've always got on better with WW than SW as well. How far you've got to go doesn't matter, you've made a good start and that's much more important.
Now, if someone can motivate me to start WW again before I can't even get my fat clothes done up that'd be great0 -

it's not really a lot, because, I'd already given up the alcohol, so it doesn't feel like a loss.
I don't like most of the cakes and biscuits I might have, so am just giving up two things I do like, but because I like them, I was eating too much of them.
The fizzy drinks were an alcohol substitute, but they contain a lot of sugar, bar the two I'm keeping for a while, (one doesn't have added sugar and theother is diet tonic water),hence why I'm giving them up........don't want to get addicted to them. The ones I'm keeping are just as emergencies at the times I might have really wanted an alcoholic drink
Most crisps I'm not keen on, but I was eating them anyway, which is stupid.
It's all about getting back in control, really.
I've been planning to restart the 5:2. So this just formalises it!
Interestingly, it doesn't feel like I'm depriving myself; it feels more like I'm in charge of what I put into my mouth, rather than some invisible craving forcing me to.
Not a question of "I want to have it, I want to have it, but I can't! Oh woe is me!"
More a question of "I don't want to have it, so I shan't!"
It's all a just a habit, you see, and a mindset.I think the only ones I could manage would be drinks with added sugar and panna cotta, but I don't like either of them:D:D :rotfl:
I know! I'll give up beetroot, 'cos I've hated that ever since I was a child! Yey! Go me! :rotfl:
(Shan't mention that I can't actually remember the last time I tried some to see if I still hated it!)
(I did still hate it!I tried to like it, because it's good for you, but I really don't!)

That's a very sensible way of looking at it and I've always done better when I let myself have want I want, within reason, rather than trying to restrict things. I just have to want not to eat chocolate more than I want to eat it...
As soon as I think I can't have something it's all I can think of and I want it far more than I ever would normally.0 -

The other way of looking at giving something up for a month is rather than think you can't have it, hold the thought that you choose not to have it.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yey! Go you, MessedUp!
3years! That's quite an achievement! Well done!
And breaking the back of your debts, too!
A whole 'new, improved' MU on the horizon! :T
And I've just finished a successful Dry January!
Now I'm doing Sugar-Free February.
I'm carrying on with no alcohol, plus I'm giving up Fox's Viennese biscuits, caramel panna cottas, sweets and drinks with added sugar.
Oh, and crisps, because I was starting to eat too many, and most aren't that nice anyway.
I don't eat chocolates and I don't buy other cakes and biscuits etc. much anyway, but I shall refuse any that are offered anywhere.
Plus I'm restarting the 5:2.
well done on completing dry january, i'm a month behind and have decided to have a dry february. Also restarted 5:2 and i've lost a pound this week, not great but i did have a bit of a blow out with food and drink this last weekI bought a little whiteboard to track my progress on

I'm sorry, I have no practical advice but you will get through it. It'll be horrible and difficult but do whatever you feel you need to and don't be afraid to ask anyone for anything which will help.

Torry......what a horrible time for you.
Just cry your heart out if that is what you want to do. It's a big part of grieving and will help you to eventually heal. Make sure you sit next to a trusted family member/friend.
