((((((Pyxis))))) A massive well done hug for you.
Big hugs for everyone else too.0 -
Hugs for all! Sorry I've been off for a few days.
I'm not doing dry Jan, but have been trying to do the 16:8 diet as well as the 5:2. So on the days I'm not fasting, I try to only eat in an 8 hour span. Hardest in the mornings following a fast! - but I never feel hungry when I wake up. (The secret is to wake up later, but I can't do that when I'm working)
Pyxis, have you seen this advert on the tube? Made me chuckle.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

On the tube? If you mean the underground, I'm nowhere near it these days! :rotfl:
If you mean the teev, no, not seen it!
It's very funny, though! :rotfl:
I've not heard of 16:8.
I'll google it.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes, underground.
And yes, the 16:8 every day, I suppose, with a 500 cal restriction 2 days a week. (I am a pig when I'm not calorie restricted, though)

My dry January turned into a dry-ish January half way in due to a birthday. I'm not annoyed with myself though because I said all along I'd robabky have a couple of drinks that night. I'm more pleased that I've avoided reaching for a bottle out of habit on a Friday night. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I realise this is a MH thread but I'm goinf to talk about my physical health a bit. I've been having pain in my left arm quite a bit recently, particularly when driving, sitting at my desk at home and trying to sleep, so eventually gave in and got myself off to the doctor yesterday. Turns out I have a trapped nerve in my neck, so need to have an x-ray next and then physio. At least I know what's going on now.
A bit like with the frozen shoulder when it started I thought I must have slept awkwardly and it would go in a few days, but it didn't, and then I left it because of Christmas, then New year, then they keep saying how busy the NHS is so I didn't book an appointment but eventually I had to give in. Then they asked if I wanted an emergency appointment or not - I don't know! I thought you rang an ambulance for emergencies, so I told them I didn't think I was about to die and got a non-emergency one, which was a week later.
I've still got some of the cocodamol left from my frozen shoulder last year, they don't do anything with the pain from this. Anyway, sorry for the moan, hope everyone is doing OK.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Ono, there's absolutely no need to apologise for having a moan. Any kind of pain gets you down and you've been dealing with it for quite a while now so I'm surprised you've not moaned more. I'm glad the doctor managed to find what it was and I hope that they can get it fixed soon.
I have no idea whether a chiropractor would be any help for a trapped nerve but is it worth going to see one in case they can lessen the pain at all while you're waiting for physio?0 -

Absolutely a Chiropractor is the professional to see for something like that.
Please do, Ono. :A(I just lurve spiders!)
