Still, take heart, you're not as dysfunctional as a lot of them on here.
Thank you for pointing that out, C and J. However, that is why we ask posters not to quote posts with penguins in them. We would, therefore, be most grateful if you wouldn't mind deleting your quotes. Not your posts, just the quoted bit. Many thanks. :A(I just lurve spiders!)

Bizarre post
This is because the gorgeous lady who is the OP of this and previous threads has a condition which leads her to believe that the bad things that happen are her fault, so we try to reassure her that they aren't her fault.
May I suggest that you perhaps go to the start of the thread and have a read of the posts on the first page, at least? That might explain a lot of our peculiar habits!(I just lurve spiders!)

For the benefit of any newcomers who are a bit puzzled by our thought processes.........(The thread etiquette will be reposted every ten or so pages.)
........:starmod:......................................................................:starmod:.....................
Here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..
!!!But first...............please be assured..................................................................******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. (See below about penguins). In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******
- This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.
- People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.
- The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!
-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.
Similarly, if they want to discuss something that might be a trigger for some people, then posting PENGUIN would be a warning that what follows in the whiteout might be a trigger.
- So, if you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.
"Possible penguin about.........(Type of Trigger)" The trigger might be:- child abuse, marital abuse/violence, paranoia, stalkers, death, etc. (It's important to indicate the type of trigger, so that people can avoid reading it if they need to).
Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.
It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it, (so please don't 'quote' a post containing a penguin onto the thread!)
(Harmless example follows here):-
PENGUIN
This is a penguin. A nasty, crotch biting penguin (CBP).
It isn't really! So you can look.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozGTv0hxhpc[/url]
END OF PENGUIN
(NB on a tenth-page repost of the etiquette, you can see these penguiny words because they are white against the green 'quote' background. On a normal post, they will be white against white, and so won't be seen on the thread.)
IMPORTANT: It has been ascertained that some posters to this thread have found that there are certain subjects which act as triggers, precipitating a worsening of their condition.
To protect these posters, you are respectfully requested NOT to discuss these subjects on this thread:-
Religion. (Please note: it is recognised that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and we respect those beliefs. It is only because of the fact that religion does act as a trigger for some posters, that we exclude it from discussion.)
N.B. Please don't even mention the name of the religion.
The afterlife. The reason for this is explained in this thread by one poster, and there will be others for whom this is a trigger.
We ask and thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
.........:starmod:.....................................................................:starmod:................
!!!So, to reiterate..............******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******
- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.
...............Thread Motto...............

Do you actually like make-up, calley, or do you just feel like you should wear it? I missed the whole experimenting with make-up stage and was utterly awful at it when I tried it later on. I don't bother at all now. I'm sure many would argue that I have a face that requires it, but !!!! 'em.
I like to wear it. I don't want to look like I put it on with a trowel. But to make myself look halfway decent. And not orange like I have been tango'd :rotfl:
I am going to Penguin about your penguin ed/food/dieting
I have been following a couple of personal trainers on face book. And what they say makes sense. Don't focus on the weight but your fitness. Being fat is metabolic adaption.
Diets make you fat. If you can face doing it. Find out what your Total Daily Energy Expenditure is. TDEE for short. There are loads of calculators on line to find it out. It is a lot higher than you think. And then eat that amount each day in calories. And exercise to make the calorie deficit to loose weight.
Build up your exercise over the day. So rather than do one stint of cycling do 3 of 10 mins a day. Does not seem so bad.
My problem is that yes I do binge eat. I do exercise taking the dog out twice a day. But that is meandering 2 mile walk as have to keep an eye on the dog. Stop to pick up his poo and everyone with or without a dog wants to stop and chat with you!!!
So I am active but not pushing to get any fitter. As that means going out 3 times a day. Twice with the dog and once on my own. And when its hot I try get out early with the dog. So need to work out how to get around that. AM has come up with something but it means getting up 6.30am!!!!
Just take it slow and don't over do it.
Penguin end
I did waffle on there I do apologise.
Everyone take care

Don't forget you're probably seeing things through a negative filter, which the rest of us don't have, so you're interpreting things in a different way to what was intended. I hope you get the support you need on here, playing the victim isn't going to help you.
C&J, rest assured that our aim is to support each other and any others who have issues of any kind, whether mental, physical or metaphysical
Seriously, though, one of the things we try to do is to be accepting and non-judgemental, both towards people with known mental health issues, and also towards those for whom their issues have yet to be diagnosed or recognised.
We try to extend a metaphorical hand of friendship and support. Sometimes one's issues can become overwhelming and then it may appear to others that that person is playing the victim, but on here is one place where you don't have to keep up a pretence of how bad you're feeling, such as you may have to do at work, at home or in social circles.
I'm sure you wouldn't think it right to stamp on the foot of someone with a broken foot; in the same way, sometimes words can be hurtful to a person who is suffering with certain demons. We simply ask that people be mindful of the feelings of others. If one of us is upset by a post, it is ok to say so, and from that, both the poster and the reader can learn from the experience.
Do you have any problems that you need support for? If you do, it's ok to say so, and it is equally ok to think 'not yet'. It was quite a while before I was able to share my experiences, but feel free to post or just to hover, if you prefer.(I just lurve spiders!)

Oh I probably come under the heading 'not quite certifiable lunatic', like a lot of people on this siteBut I have a sense of humour. You've gotta have one in life, haven't you. People wallowing always gets my goat.
On a serious note, there is a good website for people with more serious mental and emotional problems. It used to be free but I don't know if you need to pay for it now:
I can't post links, but google big white wall0 -
Well, given that this is a thread for people to talk about their feelings, I don't feel that it is inappropriate for people to say if they are feeling bad.
It may be inappropriate on other threads, but not on this one, as this thread was started for that exact reason.
The clue is in the name of the thread!
And you are equally entitled to say how you are feeling; we just ask that you do so with regard to the problems that people on here might be struggling with.
The use of certain words might be hurtful, that is all. :A(I just lurve spiders!)

Purchased some "Kalms" which is supposed to help, unsure if to take the leap in or just ride this out by keeping busy.
"Kalms tablets are a traditonal herbal remedy containing a blend of pure plant ingredients that bring relief from worry and irritability, stresses and strain".
I used to take a dose of them in anticipation of visiting my sister.
I soon learnt that it was better to instead dive straight into the alcohol on turning up at her house.0
