On the plus side - I've managed to pay off two debts this week, getting there slowly but surely

HBS,
one way to look at it is at least you are not gaining. So I would say thats a win.
well done on paying the debts off its a fab feeling. I remember years ago when I had finished paying off a loan for a good couple of years after. I put that money in to a savings account. As i had managed with out while paying the loan off. So did not miss it.

Much the same today, scared to read the article for fear it will make me feel worse. My back is niggling today but at least there has been some sunshine in between the showers.

It would let you know that you are certainly not alone with your fears. It seems to be very common; it happened to me, too, and I certainly didn't realise it was so common. In fact, I didn't realise that other people felt that too!
It also helps to explain why those fears are there.

aww .. cat cafe.. I love the idea of this!.. it would be heaven on earth
I've had a terrible day.. I always bin my loo roll up, but I forgot as my mind was on the assessment tomorrow, and predictably, raw sewage in the shower and patio.. The agency refused to send a drain man to flush the pipes out, instead he sent the landlords odd job man, who I had a massive shouty argument , he insists it's not sewage, even though it reeks of poo, he is coming round tomorrow to put drain satuff down the patio drain, which will not fix the problem. I had had the pips flushed over 30 times since I've lived here.. and it's always sewage, and drain cleaner never works .. I am sick to the back teeth of living in this flat.. it is so stressful having a cowboy landlord. The cats are traipsing it in, it's a health hazard, but what do I do when they argue that it's not sewage.. I've had enough of it all, I could have done without that today, and I bet he'll turn up when the assessors are here. I am really upset, angry and stressed out. I tear my hair out with this flat, I despair, I really doMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0 -

Well done, though, on both counts.
Oh dear, Faerie, how dreadful. There must be something very wrong with the pipes for them to block so easily.(I just lurve spiders!)

Can't environmental health inspect if it is sewage and make the landlord do something?
If it's blocking that much it's probably a fault with the pipes somewhere - when ours was continually blocking at work it was a tree root that had damaged the drain. Which is probably why the landlord is avoiding tackling it properly, it's potentially quite expensive.
Gitdog has had the pleasure of training night two nights in a row. Last night he joined the bronze class and comprehensively failed to set the shining example expected from a gold trainee there to show the newbies how it should be done. Although he did get very enthused when introduced to the baby rottie.
Tonight he detoured to take up residence on the training room settee making the most of a staff lap and the heater then threw a huge sulk when I hauled him off to do some actual work. The rest of the night was spent doing as little as possible at the slowest possible speed which apparently is very entertaining if you're not the person tearing your hair out on the other end of the lead. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Elsien, is there any Hypnotherapy for dogs?
Perhaps to help instil in him the desire to become like his owner.

I think we're already there. I have also spent the day doing as little as possible at the slowest possible speed. Roll on retirement, which if the government has its way probably won't now be till I hit 90.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
