Week 3 of couch to 10k completed. I still hate running!0
-
I tried to start running again but my knee is still knackered after the cattle grid incident. I have finally overcome my GP allergy and made an appointment but I suspect after 9 months it may be a little late.
When I was running, 5K was my limit before I got really bored - that endorphin rush or whatever you're meant to get from exercise never really kicked in with running.
When you get to 10K I'll be very impressed.
And in Gitdog news, today we have been having (unauthorised) fun with string. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

All I can say is, thank your lucky stars he didn't eat it.
When my dog ate a relatively short piece, about 10", it was "interesting" , gently trying to extract the half that was still inside with the half that was dangling outside.
With that lot of string, it could have taken a week! :rotfl:
(Or, I suppose, you could have tried a wool-winder?) :rotfl:
Plus, at least he had the sense not to garrotte himself with it!(I just lurve spiders!)

Where is this so called few hot days we're meant to be getting? At the moment, it's seriously bucketing down, windy, and not even an inkling of sun! It's meant to be early 20's up here today....I'll believe that when I see it. Hope it fairs up for our bike ride later.
My Aunty enjoyed her day out yesterday. She said how nice it was to just be out of the house. My cousins ears must have been burning!
It was weird having her sit next to me in the car, just like my Dad used to, because she is the absolute spit of him. I mean I knew that anyhow, but keeping on catching a glimpse profile wise, made my stomach flip a few times. How can something be so comforting yet moving at the same time? She's got all his ways and mannerisms and dry sense of humour! She even licks her knife just like he did, I do it too and was like (to my Mam) "see, that's where I get that from!" :rotfl: I try not to do it in polite company....we weren't dragged up I promise!
She cracks me up too, when we got back in the car, she starts shaking out the mats and checking if the bin needed empties ("I always do this in cousins car"), and I was like "I've just hoovered!", she was like "there's some bits on this mat here....ya dirty b*tch!" Said with a wink and a laugh of course! :rotfl:
Damn it, I'm sitting here typing and sipping my coffee, and I'm meant to have the car in for 9am! :eek:0 -
She sounds great Georgie, am so pleased you all enjoyed your day. Hope the car gets on ok this time.
I was thinking about my uncle last night (I think the talk of cousins put the thought in my head), and how I basically didn't know him. There were no family fall-outs or anything, and he lived about 5 mins away, but I can only remember going to his house once. I have no idea why we didn't see him more often, but I do think it's a shame that we never had that close relationship. He died 15 years ago, and we (sister and I) don't have any other uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. All of which makes me even more glad for my lovely, lovely niece, and how close we are. Even if she is 14 going on 25 and a grumpy pita at times :rotfl:. Also, although our side of the family is teeny, she does have half-siblings and cousins on her dad's side which is good. Just wish I could have given her cousins too.
Ahhh.... am having a melancholy "what might have been" kind of day. I blame the 'back to school' feel of early September.0 -
Yeah she's fab tea! Just released that I've made her sound so uncouth, like a cross between Catherine Tates Nan and Mrs Brown though! That's more my MIL! :rotfl:
Cousins aren't all they're cracked up to be tea. Like I say, I don't really know most of mine, and even though I'm close to a couple aunties and uncles, the majority I'm not. All of my cousins are quite a bit older than me, but I don't think that's the only reason (as I'm close to my aunty's boys), but just the fact that growing up, we never ever went round to my Mam's brothers houses (well two of them did live down South).
Hugs ((((tea))))0 -
Please someone, make this rain go away!!
The cat went out this morning, and I was dreading having to try and dry off a crazy soggy moggy, but at last look he appeared to have climbed into next doors greenhouse through the windows! He's not daft lol!0
