    :D

I was trying to work out how to describe what they taste of because I don't think they've got a particularly strong taste, they tend to absorb the flavour of whatever they're cooked with, but you're still not going to mistake it for anything else.

Are they kind of like courgette? If so, I don't like courgettes :p

Yes and no! Sorry, not very helpful!

The best way to try them for the first time, is to roast them with olive oil in the oven. Make sure they're well-roasted, as they caramelise a bit and are yummy!
Same with courgettes. They are gor----geous roasted! Much nicer than boiled.

Yesterday I sliced up a marrow, (which is a large courgette! :D) and roasted it with olive oil in the oven, till a bit charred around the edges, and it was yum yum yum yum! I could have eaten loads more!

  • I cooked with courgettes tonight and I don't like them normally, at least not as plain veg like you get with a roast. Sliced and fried in a generous helping of olive oil, with pancetta (or more precisely diced bacon in my case due to lack of actual pancetta) and some black pepper, then mixed in with pasta twirls. Very nice, very easy and only takes 15 minutes :D

  • Spiders are wonderful! Small spidery penguin as I know people don't like them Apart from the one who keeps turning up on me in bed at night, he is going to get squashed! Two nights ago I woke up to a tickling feeling and he had made a web from my hand to the wall, this is how still I must have been! End spidery penguin.

Courgette fritters are lovely, dipped in sweet chilli sauce. Other than that I hate courgettes!

Escapette lived up to her name and scarpered across the living room floor whilst I was changing her nappy. She sat teasing Little Sod through the baby gate and then did a massive wee on the floor. The pair of them are trouble!
  • We currently have a massive ugly looking spider camping outside our front window. A great big one with a massive bulbous body....shudder!

If that happened to D WaS, I think it'd finish him off! I don't like them, but he really doesn't like them!
  • Hahahaha! They are keeping you on your toes, Welly!

D can get CBT phobia therapy for that as I had, Georgie! It is a one off session that takes about 5 hours and you never look back, you might even be like me and love them afterwards. It is expensive but it really does cure the phobia for life, I totally recommend it.

We have four that I know of living with us currently and they all keep to their own corners other than the persistent little one. I quite like having them around which is hugely different from the person I used to be who sat at a bus stop for the entire night because there was one in the house and I couldn't bear to be in the same living space.
