Doesn't help that I know I've got an early start and lots to get done tomorrow and it's all playing on my mind. Have got to try and fit in a visit to a shop with very, very restricted opening hours.... and if I do make it there on time have got some tricky decisions to make.
Well, now my mind is boggling away like it's in the boggling Olympics and trying for the boggling gold medal!

In good news Milliefleur now has a day centre placement twice a week! Between our two social workers they managed to arrange it so that she has a social event most days. She now has the day centre twice a week, church on Sundays, a club another day and a befriender visiting on Saturdays. Hopefully that will stop her feeling lonely and inventing problems for WaSp to fix. I do feel for her because despite her blindness she is still very active and sociable, she doesn't do well sitting alone with nothing to do. Let's see if this helps, they have made a real effort for her.
I'm sure she'll be fine! She's a feisty old thing!
(Just remember that if she turns all that down, and reverts to demanding WaSp to go there, that that is her decision to turn down all those opportunities, and that WaSp must NOT feel obliged to fill the gap.)
I'm sure she won't though, unless BIL sticks his stupid oar in, for some selfish reason or the other.

She did really enjoy being in Yorkshire, didn't she? From what I can remember. So I would imagine she'll be in her element with these new experiences!

Three cheers for the Rottweiler! :T :T :T

By the way, I'm going to be out all day tomorrow, from early 'til late, at a big AmDram thing, part of an Arts Festival, so won't be able to read or post at all.

Thank you Pyxis. I have been to isle of wight many many moons ago and I was fine. it was my brother that felt sick. Not sure why I felt queasy. I think on the way back I should have sat the other way around. A bit like going backwards on a train. And I can't sit side wards on a bus.

Ah right, your husband, sorry thought you were talking about Lego man!

I'm fine on boats (love being on the water), but get so travel sick in cars, buses and even trains sometimes.

Have a fab day tomorrow Pyxis! :)

So far Milliefleur seems really happy with it. We were particularly cheered when WaSp rang her and she told him she was getting ready to go out so didn't have time to talk and he would have to call her back later! That certainly wouldn't have happened two weeks ago. We are really hoping that this works, she does love being around people so it should do. I do understand because she has been full of energy her whole life, she is one of those people who never sits still and has spent little time alone. The more she has to do, the happier she is.

This gives WaSp more time to do the things he likes to do, he has been popping out for 3 hours every day to take photographs in various places which is his passion. That is fine for me because I can be left for that long and it allows WaSp to have a hobby that he loves just for him outside of the flat. As long as BIL doesn't find a way to mess this up everyone is better off. I am crossing everything!

ETA On an adorable note I did ask WaSp if he would prefer to meet his friends for a few hours a day. The poor man stumbled all over himself and said that he actually loves spending 3 hours all by himself but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be with me! I totally understand, I never go out so he has no time alone in the flat at all and his usual life is either being with me or Milliefleur, constant company, caring duties and interaction. He is really appreciating a few hours a day alone with his camera and I am really happy for him that he can now have that. This has given WaSp the breathing space he needed.

Im new on this thread - Hi
There used to be a support thread for people with anxiety/depression but I think it got closed. Is this thread for supporting those people now? I'm sorry but I'm not sure and I don't want to post if it's inappropriate. Thank you

  • Hello Dandy! Yes, we have lots of people here with anxiety and depression, I am one of them along with other diagnoses. You are very welcome here, we love making new friends! Post as much or as little as you wish, we will always listen.

Yes, Pyxis. WaSp was really missing some time alone. He confessed that the reason he loves driving so much is because it's the only time he gets to be alone, he never told me that before. He seems a lot happier now he gets to go out every day and walk around fields and woods photographing things, he finally has the time to do so.

    Thank you so much!

I've had anxiety and depression for 10 years now, and although DH is wonderful he doesn't really understand. It would be lovely to join people who get where I'm coming from.

Anyway I had a big melt down last night, worst for a long time, and we had to cut our holiday short by a day so I could get home and feel "safe" - I hope that make sense to some of you :s
