WaS - try peanut butter in the humane trap. Hubby and I had a family of mice (or ten) when we moved into our new house and spent weeks driving out to the country to relocate them. Peanut butter seemed to be the best thing to attract them into the traps.

Thank you Fly! I have peanut butter so no problems there, at this rate Monty will be getting a banquet! He is currently hiding behind the basin, poor little thing is so scared. We are trying to avoid going in there so we don't upset him further.

I am glad I am not the only one who locates visiting rodents! Once a guy in the local pub came back from fishing and brought in a small live crab. Guess who ended up forcing WaSp to drive an hour to the beach so I could set it free? I get very attached to little creatures!

You don't have to go and buy one, try this http://www.instructables.com/id/Mouse-Rat-Trap-from-Recycled-Water-Bottle/?ALLSTEPS

as it is one rat in unfamiliar territory, you may be lucky. but rats are famously good at avoiding new things. I bought a fancy wire trap that was supposed to hold a whole family, but never caught a single one!

Just don't get too attached to it WaS and become Phoebe from Friends with a shoebox of rat babies. :rotfl:

Just off the phone to my parents and feeling sad. My dad said he wanted to talk to me, then despite my mum telling him it was me on the phone he still asked 'how's my favourite granddaughter?' Then I made a joke about sending him to Dignitas which just went over his head even when I tried to explain and forgot Mr CPs name. Well pretended he forgot then actually forgot and asked me three times how Phillip was. Mr CP is not called Phillip. It makes me sad that I can't banter with him anymore. It's like someone took my dad and replaced him with an old man who looks a bit like him. Like the Bug in MiBII.

    Yes, welcome home ono!

Oh dear, what has she done, Melly?

Aw, big hugs, Code. That has to be really hard.

Thank you Solar, we will try that! Monty managed to make it up on the side of the bath and then panicked and ran back behind the basin. In an ideal world he would go back down the hole before we fill it tomorrow but he seems clueless.
