I know I am strange and some might even call me bizarre.
But can you fall in love with a set of sauce pans :rotfl:
I had some with a 10 year guarantee and had to change them as they were falling apart. So I picked some with ceramic insides. OMG they are so easy to clean. Some baked beans were heated up in a pan and left a couple of days all dried up. Came off a treat. Lunch time was about 3 hrs ago and I did tomato based sauce I did put some water in but some of it was left to dry on came off lovely. And best of all they cost me £17.99 instead of £60.
You can tell I have so much I have to do and how bored I am, I am cutting washing up sponges in half:eek: I only use half at a time more than enough. yes I can be tight some times :rotfl:
Back to the cutting
I agree you always remember the bad stuff. When I use to customer services we use to talk about the nasty horrible customers we had. But rarely mentioned the nice ones. Its because it sticks in your mind. If you think that you are going to blind sided by something bad then try and think of the last good thing you did.

Calley, I buy the 40p Tesco value sponges and cut them in half too. You don't need a full sponge IMO and I like to change them frequently. I tell myself that I am not being tight and am, in fact, doing my bit to reduce landfill! Also, when these sponges are on their last legs, I'll use them one last time for cleaning the loo as they can just be binned afterwards.0

Calley, it's one reason why I really try and remember to compliment good service.
Yesterday, I had to ring my credit card company. The chappie asked for my name etc., and then asked me if I preferred to be called Ms. (Surname) or (first name). Now, I do find it irritating when serious business people like banks, finance companies etc. think it's fine to call me by my first name straight off, without asking. I don't think it's very professional or business-like, at least, not on the first call, so I was very impressed that he asked me for my preference. I made a point of thanking him for doing that.
I mean, you can be friendly and courteous at the same time! It's not hard!(I just lurve spiders!)

hi guys.. I finally heard today.. I've got a place at the trauma bpd service/ centre.. Tripple yay!! My half a decade freeze out from mental health help is finally over! I'm proud of myself for fighting so hard for so long to get help. I have to wait for a keyworker to become available, but I feel relief. I know it won't give me back my health, but it be so good to have that regular support to help me pick up the pieces of the last 5 years of illness/trauma/surgeries . I do want to thank you all for bearing with me and putting up with my rants and episodes.. I'm sure there are more ahead, and it won't be a magic wand, but to have regular support from people that understand complex trauma, will be great .. Today is a good day

Life's too short to be cutting washing up sponges in half! :rotfl: I buy the packs of 24 for 99p from HB because I replace them often.
I agree Pyxis, I hate people using my first name when they don't know me. Working in retail, we always got people coming in, look at your badge, and then proceed to talk to you as though they've known you for years.
Yay faerie that's awesome! So happy for you!0 -
Pyxis, it would make me very happy to be asked how I wish to be addressed, "Sir" sets my teeth on edge as I haven't been knighted by the Queen, "Mr ..." is my dad as far as I'm concerned, even though I'm 46. I'd much rather just be called by my first name!
In news from our Italian correspondentI had my best meal of the holiday so far this evening, in a Sicilian restaurant. What's more, after I asked for the table in Italian, the waiter asked if I spoke Italian which I confirmed I did "un po", then continued to speak Italian to me!

Actually, I think that in Sicily they may still use the voi, so as it was a Sicilian restaurant, you might be all right!
What piatto did you have?
I'm getting hungry for pasta now!
Funnily enough, I found that the further south I was, the more likely they were to oblige me by speaking Italian! So,thumbs up for Sicily again! Either that, or his English wasn't very good, so he was relieved!(I just lurve spiders!)

Swordfish timbale for antipasti and grilled stuffed squid for secondi. Both of them were so good I ended up ordering more wine and a pudding that I hadn't intended to have, so I'm completely stuffed nowProud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230
