:rotfl: Google found it! I was searching "village housing to let" and this one was at the top of the page. I called the letting agents just to get an idea of what would be required and not really expecting much else and they said they would be willing to rent to me. Now I live in the very pretty Rhondda Valley! :jUntil one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I may need to learn some welsh, my road name is welsh and I have already had to ask twice how to pronounce it! Everything here is in welsh and english though so it isn't too bad. There is a huge disused mine 10 minutes away, I had never seen a mine in my life until I drove here. If I turn left out of my front door a huge hill towers over me, it is all very, very peaceful other than the crows, there are many, many very loud crows! Luckily they make me happy too!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

They are already pretty tame, everytime you open your door they flock to the house opposite and watch you in case you drop anything yummy.
I have just found out that my housing benefit has been approved so that is one worry less, at least we can relax knowing that will be paid. The next step is to make to the doctors and register there tomorrow.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh WaS I'm so glad you have gotten out of the city and I'm so proud that you've gotten through the move! Honestly, my heart's been completely warmed by the above posts
Glad things are on the up SI. Make sure you have that relax day
I have just picked up my new (to me) car. It is a bit bigger than the old one so it's scary, but very exciting!

Glad things feel a little better SI!
Aw, thank you HBS! This is all new to me but so far I like it!
Things I learnt about village life today - if the postman has a big envelope rather than fold it to get it through your letterbox he walks straight in and leaves it in the hall! He was very pleasant, introduced himself and asked if I was settling in ok. He lives 11 doors up. It is something of a community here!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS that is the upside of living in village. People know each other and keep an eye out for each other.
And if its a good village, it will often have stuff going on all the time. Like wine clubs, ramblers, WI etc.
But the downside is that everyone knows your business. Which if you are like me and a bit on shy side it can be difficult. But do enjoy it though and I hope that one day you are able to make some new friends in real life.

HBS how exciting. If you are worried about it being a bit bigger. The best thing to do is go to the local supermarket after it has shut and in the far corner of the car park practice driving around and parking it.
AM made me do this when he put me on his insurance. As he has an estate. No idea what size car he thinks I use to drive. Just looked and its about 7 inches longer than my old car used to be.
Enjoy the car.
