Omg Speky congratulations!!! I have had a shocking mse march, (although I did clear our big loan) and have been skulking about not really checking in, and I missed your flat purchase
So so pleased that things are moving forward, as Joey says look how far you have come over the past year. Fantastic.:T

  • Morning all, a busy weekend to report.

Friday - After work I got my haircut in preparation for the potential date (I was booked in for next week anyway)

Saturday - I played football in the morning, enjoyed lunch with my mates, watched the grand national and won £300 from a £2.50 bet!! Alas, the date never materialised. She was doing things with relatives who had came from afar so I thought fair enough. Her communication could've been better though.

    Sunday - Went furniture shopping. Didn't buy anything but saw a few things which I really like. Maybe you can help with my dilemma;

There's a bed frame I saw which looks really nice, modern and masculine. There is storage available under it but not too much.

    Or

An ottoman which has TONS of storage (helpful for a small flat) which still looks nice, but just not as nice.

    Thoughts are welcome.

Shame about the date Speky but huge congratulations on the £££ from the national :j
I would go for the practicality of more storage for the bed to be honest. In my experience you can never have enough space to put stuff (and I'm not a hoarder I promise)

    Thanks CCL

That's the way I'm swaying tbh. Still on the fence.
  • Morning,

Went to the flat last night from work to take measurements. Unfortunately it's smaller than I remembered but I can't wait to make it my own. I'll draw up a scale plan and see how furniture fits in etc.

From there I went to my Spanish lesson which was difficult. Learning the masculine and feminine verbs. I'll get there.

Been to the gym this morning and I've got a quick 30 minute workout class at lunch then tonight I've got badminton, I'll be knackered by the end of it.

Not much else to report for the time being. Have a nice day.
  • Morning all,

My legs are still knackered from all the exercise on Tuesday so I'll avoid working my legs for the foreseeable future.

I've been trying to be good with the diet but I think I may fall off the rails today as my office are doing an Easter/Birthday buffet at lunch. I saw we took an order for 3000 cream eggs (not all for us), so I'm sure they'll be flying about - and they're my favourite.

Date has been re-arranged to this Saturday. I've booked a table for 8pm which should be enough time for me to go home and and get ready. Looking forward to it actually.

    Adios!
  • Happy Good Friday!

Despite sore legs, I was given a late call up to play in goals last night for an hour. Didn't involve much running about so I enjoyed it.

Rumours circulating in work that we might get let home early today. If so we've all agreed to go for a drink afterwards (soda and lime for me). From there I will go to Dwell and purchase some furniture which is on sale; a sofa, coffee table and side table. They'll keep the stuff until I move in, so I don't need to worry about storage, plus they said if the items go on sale before then, they'll refund me the difference. Nothing to lose.

Although I'm born and bred Scottish, my English football team is Leeds Utd and they're playing tonight so I hope to be back in time to watch the game.

Work tomorrow followed by my date.

    Sunday I've my mates wedding.

    Off Monday to recover.

    Busy weekend ahead.

DH is watching that football match as I type Speky. Being a Mackem I suspect he is on side with Leeds as well. :D
