I had my daughter's name embroidered right across the back of her school jumpers, so unless they have the same name as her, they can't nick them :D

I think we are very lucky at my son's school. They PREFER you to have the polo shirts with the name on but don't worry if you don't. They also let them wear any dark coloured trousers, so this means he can use his casual ones as well as his school ones. Best of all because he is so tall, I had to buy a size taller and turn them up at bit (his trousers), now he has grown I let down the hems, and hey presto trousers that fit again ( he is very slim so his waist hasn't increased!).
Also the polo shirts are a bit faded but so what. They aren't ripped so he is wearing them!

Guys, if you want to know why you have children it is simply because your other half (wife/partner) wanted a baby. It is the truth, that the most desireable thing for majority of women (not all, there are exceptions) is a baby. It is how nature made a woman. When a woman sees a baby her eyes go cloudy, the smell of baby is like an aphrodisiac. The happiest day of my life was when my first baby was born, probably others feel the same.

So guys, just face it, you actually did not have much choice to have a baby or not to have and don't mislead yourself. Your female had chosen you to be a father, so just get on, get those shoes, stationary and all the rest...

 I just had to post this on this thread...

We saw the orthodontist today and he said my daughter's braces are going to cost £3000!!!

He said she qualifies for NHS work, but he thinks the private option will be more effective for her particular problems, and they'll work faster - so less time in train tracks.

She also won't have to have any teeth removed if we go private but if we opt for NHS she's got to have at least 2 maybe 4 teeth out.

What the heckin hell am I going to do???

I feel a massive pot of tea and a dark choc kitkat coming on!

Love Jacks xxx  (No grin today!)

    Sell your body on Ebay?

If you post a new thread on the health board there are some dentists on here that may be able to give you some good moneysaving advice - it might be worth a try. Toothsmith in particular is very helpful :)

Me? I'd have kids with wonky teeth :rotfl:
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

A few years ago we went through the same process and paid 2000 for DD to have private Orthodontic treatment. This treatment did not require teeth to be removed and no train tracks - she had removeable brace fitted.

If you were a teenager with a removable brace what would you do? Remove it of course. It spent more time on her dressing table than in her mouth.

2 years and 2000 pounds later the Orthodontist declined to see her any more as she would not co-operate with the treatment programme. Her teeth still need straightening but it will be at her own expense or on the NHS I think.

  • Hi

Go for the NHS braces, eventually she will have wisdom teeth extra and loosing the extra teeth now just provides more room for these. Also they will be aligned so no one will ever need to know 4 are missing.

Its just the dentists trying to srew money out of you.
