To give you some freezer space back for batch cooking you could buy uht milk as back up supply and that gives you room in freezer...?

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Any chance of selling 1 of your cars since only 1 of you work?
  • Both of us work - only one of us earns. Unless you count tax credits...
  • Managed to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the mince - 10 portions of lasagne and 4 bolognese. So two meals ready for freezer!
  • Council tax now £115 a month for ten months of the year

But baking earned me £40 minus about £5 for ingredients so that goes straight off Capital One. Two steps forward, one step back but heading in the right direction :)
  • Car failed mot. Will be another £110 to fix.
  • There's another overdraft that I had forgotten about. The account (DH's) was put on hold for 6 months. We tried to pay it off last year and we couldn't because they had put the account on hold. No, doesn't make sense to me either. We should have put the money to pay it off to one side and kept battling but didn't and now they want the full amount back within 7 days. £646.86. Actually feeling strangely calm about it. They can't take what we don't have.

Total bill for car came to £159.00. Will now tax it on monthly DD. DH's car needed four new tyres and a couple of other bits (total £80) before he put it in for MOT so there is now £61 left in the pot to cover the test.

Getting a bit worried about reduced pay packet this month but all better and back to work Monday. Have put the word around that I'm available for babysitting and holiday childcare for reasonable rates of course! Hopefully that will make up some of the difference.
  • Other spends today: £1 on a book for DD and £6.54 in superdrug.
  • DD set up for tax - £19.48 a month.
  • Should read £19.68

    Aldi £7.11 top up

Was also given 8 pts of milk and a packet of biscuits today which was nice if a bit odd!
