Hi
We ordered it through AO.com
Warranty expired - I would assume as bought in 2013 - not sure
Initially threat of fire but since then had to get belt put back on twice and it has just come off again - so have to take it back to the shop0 -

Try going back to ao.com first but with regards to the belt, they might ask you to prove its inherently faulty rather than normal wear & tear.
Given the warranty has expired, theres not really a lot you can do when it comes to the manufacturer - your statutory & contractual rights are with the retailer and even the recall they have issued was voluntary rather than something they were mandated to do.
I think they have offered some replacements free of charge but (as far as I know anyway) there doesn't seem to be magic condition that qualifies you for that offer. Perhaps have a read back through the thread and see if there is a pattern from the users who were offered the FOC replacement.
Let us know how you get on and good luck! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

You like to make a drama out of things don't you! There could be as many as 6000 Tumble Dryer fires over the last 6 years if The Daily Mirror are right.

I don't own one of those machines but to me it's common sense not to leave the property you live in with an appliance like that operating which is basically what the advice is.0 -

MSK, you can call it 'making a drama' I call it being careful.0 -
I have contacted Hotpoint firstly via their online complaints area - I received a standard reply, giving the options of repair or pay. I re contacted them, via your resolver page and I have not even had a reply. Feeling frustrated as they are scheduled to repair in July. I don't want the repair and I don't think I should have to pay for a replacement either (husband wants to just pay!) I do not thinks it's fair. Any suggestions what to do next?0

Hey - have a look at my post (#289) - I essentially concentrated my complaints on the fact that my insurance is actually not valid as I have an electrical item that potentially could catch on fire (evidenced by Hotpoint's Repair Scheme) and thus anything damaged would not be covered.
Good luck.0 -

Sorry admins, I posted this also under consumer rights also so may need to be removed from there. I am not sure what to do about dryer that is less than 12 months old?
Bought Hotpoint tumble dryer from co-op in August last year. It is a 2015 model and turned out was one of the faulty models. I reported this on the Hotpoint site in February this year. Received email saying somebody would be in contact within 8 weeks to arrange repair visit. I was never contacted back.
Contacted Hotpoint customer service line, was told that engineer was due to come out in September 2017!
Contacted co-op by phone who I bought the dryer from as is less than 12 months old who said it was safe to use and that they had a statement from Hotpoint in February that customers should go through Hotpoint direct.
This seems unacceptable to me when product was only 6 months old when I reported it to Hotpoint. It is still under it's 12 months manufacturer warranty as it stands and would have thought that surely Hotpoint had some duty to help before September 2017 on this?0
