• Hi, I'm currently doing some research on the behalf of Dundee Carers Centre to find out about people's experiences of PIP and their view of the new changes that have been announced in the budget. Information collected as part of this research will be completely anonymous and will be the basis of a report for disability charities and MPs. If you are currently in receipt of PIP and would like to take part, please email s.f.christison@Dundee.ac.uk . Thank you.

It's for the dressing and toileting descriptors only.

• How come so many people are becoming disabled?
IMO on sudden cause / effect. Over the course of the 6 months prior to the rise in appliance claims there were 3 legal judgements that ruled a bed or chair can be classed as an aid or appliance if it helps someone get dressed or undressed.

In 2015 the GOV's DWP data analysis showed that 1 in 3 dally living PIP component receipts tripled in 18 months [excluding DS1500] solely as a result of needing aids or appliances, so its not the number becoming disabled its the 60% rise in the number claiming appliances / aids in as little as the 4 activities. [see schrodie post yesterday]

- food prep 2 points
- washing, bathing 2 points
- incontinence, toilet seats 2 points
- dressing, undressing 2 points

Best of luck.

So am I not entitled to have a view on anything I don't have personal experience of?

If I have not understood something, then explain it to me. Conversation leads to harmony.

Well this mornings new that IDS has upped sticks and gone throws another doubt over who is actually driving this whole thing. It's getting very very political given the soon to come euro ref.
