The govt has chosen to adopt option 5 and reject options 1 to 4, so it could have been far worse, suggest you read the link you've posted.0

They didn't NEED to do any of it though. PIP is already hard to get and these changes will make it harder for people with genuine physical disabilities.0

This victimisation of those with disabilities seems unrelenting. Strange how in November the government had a surprise windfall and so did not implement changes to tax credits. Yet any financial loss to those claiming could have been replaced by them doing more hours or taking on a second job, if not disabled. Those with disabilities who cannot work or can only work a set number of hours just do not have that option - do they? So where the hell are they suppose to find any way of making up any financial aid they lose to pay for their disability needs?
This is nothing to do with reducing fraud now and is victimisation of one of the most vulnerable groups in our society. Those who try to justify this governments behaviour are obviously those who still believe the reducing fraud aspect or still hold the 'scrounger' mentality they have been fed or are just arrogant and ignorant people who think it will never happen to them - It can, it may and although I hope it doesn't if it does - would you accept this treatment?
Cameron and his cronies are just bullies in suits and Cameron and his pet toad IDS will be tipping their heads back and laughing to think they have found the perfect way to cut the welfare bill - pick on the vulnerable and no-one will say anything on their behalf and will even defend what we are doing because they believe our spin - how sad!0 -
Where could the country raise or save money?
What about actually charging corporation tax?
Implementing spare room subsidy for pensioners (well they are the biggest group of under occupiers)?
Disallowing the claiming of carers allowance by people who claim DLA/PIP for themselves?
60%+ tax on financial institutions big employee/CEO bonuses as we are in this mess because of their mismanagement, banks haven't exactly bounced back but somehow still have money for bonuses?
Scrap the current MP expenses and set up an account with IBIS or similar for MPs who have to travel to London for business. Travel expenses for train or cheap flights only?
Scrap the 11% MP payrise?0 -
Get this vile government out :mad:0

In my college days, a lecturer told us of a visit by some Russian students, who attended one of his lectures.
When asked about how they coped with the (then more severe) restrictions in their homeland (their 'minder' had gone on a coffee break),the reply was that we just thought we had a choice and that all the parties were the same , but for name. ie just like in Orwell's Animal Farm.0 -
Does anyone understand the practicalities of this. If you are on lower care component- will it be re assessed in January, or when you next apply- and what if you are on it indefinitely ? Can't get my head around it.Thanks0
-
i would assume that it is at your next assessment.
there are no indefinite awards of PIP. the longest award is 10 years0 -
The government hate PIP and hate ESA is the impression I get.
People are losing motability cars like there's no tomorrow.
Ironically my neice brought a used Vauxhall and it was only 18 months old. An ex-motability car. Perfect condition.
Now a Motability lease is three years so I suspect this car was one that was lost by a poor person who doubtless now is housebound. I felt sad about this car. That may not be the case but was what ran through my mind. The car had no disabled adaptations but is an Astra Estate. So large enough to take a folded wheelchair and the disabled person could have been the passenger.0
