Buses in Glasgow don't stop at midnight. There are many services that run throughout the night (for example the N1 from Glasgow Central runs until about 5am).

I'd have to agree with the above advice - best to take the hit on this one now before it escalates even further.

Thanks tykesi, I will pay it if you can give me a rational coherent and objective answer as to why I should pay it as it was 2am in the morning, buses stop at midnight..

A good reason to why you should pay it is because it won't go away. It will only incur further charges and is likely to affect your credit rating at some stage.

If these things don't bother you though, then don't pay it.

Just a thought, OP - you weren't driving a Yaris at the time, were you ? If you were, then you'd be exempt from paying the fine :rotfl:

Too many rules and regulations and silly bits of paint on the road to make someone £££'s out of the motoring public.

But if people are clearly aware of those rules and regulations and simply decide to ignore them because it was 2am in the morning and they decided that those rules and regulations didn't apply to them, why shouldn't they have to pay the penalties?

I drive on the M20 on a regular basis and as this is often very quite in the middle of the night, should I be allowed to totally ignore the speed limits without fear of breaking the law?

I often do drive at over 70mph on this road but I do so in the knowledge that if I get caught I will have to pay the penalty and I wouldn't go on the internet whining about how unfair it is.

"someone" is not making £££s out of the motoring public, but only out of those members of the motoring public who break the law. Since those £££s would otherwise have to be raised in taxes, that strikes me as a good arrangement.

Oh bless, another overly entitled OP who thinks everything is someone else's fault and the world owes them a living.

    Enjoy your CCJ etc...

TBH, Glasgow does have plenty of past form for poor signage and confusing/misleading/ever-changing road markings. It could well be that the OP might have fallen foul of these and Pepipoo could be helpful in sorting the matter out.

Last time I stayed in Glasgow, there appeared to be no way to actually access my hotel parking without transgressing some form of road reg - such was the sheer baffling array of road markings/restrictions on all of its surrounding roads.

It seems you make habit of driving in bus lanes. Did you pay the last fine?

    Oh, very interesting indeed...

Any bets on it taking from August until now for the cows to come home to roost?
  • To all who gave me sensible replies Thanks..

To the others, I really do despair for our future generations, 25 years ago, there would have been uproar and mayhem on the streets and riots at the way everything is a crime now, every thing is utterly frowned upon..

You shouldnt have sped, you shouldnt have turned right at a no right turn, you shouldnt have looked at your mobile, you shouldnt have stopped on the double yellows..

What a lame lettuce bunch of pathetic human beings you have become, if I can even call yous that..

yous need to look up a dictionary and really study the words crime law etc
