Why would you not pay it?0

Has there been a court ruling against you or are the Officers simply acting as debt collectors?
The former could well affect things, the latter would not.
Heading to the Pepipoo Forums is probably the best thing to do as they are probably your best resource for challenging council penalties.0 -
Glasgow is pretty hot on bus lane penalties, why didn't you pay it when you first got the notification, when it was probably £30, now that it's got beyond the council it's going to cost you a lot more.0

Thanks tykesi, I will pay it if you can give me a rational coherent and objective answer as to why I should pay it as it was 2am in the morning, buses stop at midnight..
Your answers are not allowed to be...
The law is the law...
Bus lanes are for buses...
Council laws must be enforced...
It has to be rational & coherent..

With that attitude, I for one am glad you got caught. If you don't pay and end up with a CCJ on your record, it won't matter how rational or coherent your arguments are, you will be, quite rightly, stuffed.
Good luck with that.0 -

Bus lanes are available to taxis, emergency vehicles, cyclists in this area. They don't stop at midnight.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0 -
ive seen people on debt collector tv prgrammes whose had their cars repossed for 2 grand debts which originally started off as a council parking fine and the fine got passed around from different debt companies and ami costs slapped on each time. It's madness.0

Is the bus lane operational 24 hours a day, or are there signs saying it's available for general use between the hours of, say, midnight and 6:00 am for instance ? Most bus lanes are operational at all times, irrespective of when buses are running, and often are available for use by taxis and cycles, but not "ordinary" cars.
If the bus lane is in force 24 hours a day then I'm afraid "the law is the law" and you're bang to rights. What if I said "Yes officer, I know I was doing 150 mph, but it was 2 am and there wasn't much traffic around" - would you expect him to say "Oh, OK then, I'll let you off" ? Of course not.0 -

Oh bless, another overly entitled OP who thinks everything is someone else's fault and the world owes them a living.
Enjoy your CCJ etc...0 -
