By which, of course, you mean replies you agreed with.To the others, I really do despair for our future generations, 25 years ago, there would have been uproar and mayhem on the streets and riots at the way everything is a crime now, every thing is utterly frowned upon..
"Anarchy in the UK" was released 40yrs ago this year... Sid Vicious would have been sixty next May.0 -

You shouldnt have sped, you shouldnt have turned right at a no right turn, you shouldnt have looked at your mobile, you shouldnt have stopped on the double yellows..
What a lame lettuce bunch of pathetic human beings you have become, if I can even call yous that..
yous need to look up a dictionary and really study the words crime law etc
B****cks. There were bus lanes 40 years ago. There was no rioting in the streets.0 -

And "My Generation" was written 50 years ago, and Pete Townsend is now 70 without having died before he got old(although at least Keith Moon and Jon Entwistle fulfilled the promise).

Paddy - if you got the FPN because you used the bus lane when you weren't allowed to, then the best advice is to pay it. You might want to make a crusade out of it, but it'll only cost you more money. If you think that you haven't broken any rules, then you could fight it on that basis.
There are a few websites which go on and on about what the correct signage is for bus lanes etc. so if the bus lane in question wasn't correctly marked, you could get off on a technicality, but last thing you want is the Sheriff coming knocking. From memory, the bus lane sign has to be so many metres before the lane starts, the marking on the road have to be spot on, the times the lane is enforce must be shown etc. etc. If you are local you could pop down with a camera.0 -

Interesting.
So you feel all of these points are petty?
Using a mobile while driving, speeding etc.
Would you like to have been in this Punto while a following lorry driver was using his phone?0 -
Nice one, Custardy :T
I'm still betting this is our dear old friend DM
On the offchance that it's not, then I really do despair of some people. I'm no saint, I'm the first to admit it. Yes, I drive ( slightly ) above the speed limit at times. At times when I feel it's safe, and I'm in control. But if I get nabbed, then tough, it's my fault, I hold my hands up. Pay up and move on. Can anyone on here, in all honesty, say they've NEVER exceeded the speed limit ? And let's face it, doing 80 mph, or dare I even say 90 mph, on a clear motorway, ideal weather conditions, a car and a driver capable of dealing with it - no more dangerous than doing 70 mph. If I get caught doing 85 then I'm in the wrong, no question. But doing 65 mph whilst attempting to write a text message - infinitely more dangerous.0 -

What? You mean like this
Although I don't think they were about anything as trivial as someone getting a fine for the misuse of a bus lane.0 -

Not even if it was at 2am?0 -
why I should pay it as it was 2am in the morning, buses stop at midnight.
This was missing from your first post!
I assume from your attitude in following posts, that you've found out that you were in the bus lane when you shouldn't have been. Read the signs and drop the attitude when asking for help, pay up and learn your lesson. And don't be rioting.0
