I certainly do not wish to be causing confusion or sowing doubt in something that may continue to work. However, I have two different SELs on the Hartley's jelly in M on Monday that I am unable to reconcile.

I did not get any different position from another store: I had the same position, two sets of SELs, in all 3 stores.

I therefore think the Dole jellies (on 4 for £1) will be 'safer'. But not just yet on those as they have only just joined the offer.

On the Hartley's that appear still to be on 4 for £1, I also have an indication that they are on (or also on?) 5 for £2. That cannot surely be the case however as, if they are on 4 for £1, then 5 would not be £2 but would be £1.50, since they are 4 for £1 plus the individual price of one at 50p. They would surely not be seeing you charged an extra £1 for adding one more jelly to your shop?

I think this is all the fault of people at M that write the SELs, that I assume to be people who aren't on the autism spectrum since the vast majority of people are not autistic, that are just not being precise enough in describing the exact products that are covered or are not covered by the two different offers.

I have the following (all three stores):

    "Dole/Hartley's Jelly/Custard 113-125g 50p Any 4 for £1"

    at the same time as

    "Ambrosia/Morrisons Rice/Custard Pot Hartley's/Vimto Jelly 115-150g 50p Any 5 for £2"

Both SELs have the same expiry date - 1st May 2016.

The Hartley's Jellys that are 125g and have clearly been 4 for £1 immediately previously are clearly within the first of the above two. (They appear to have been joined by the 115g Hartley's Jelly Pots - as is consistent with m.com - and 113g clearly refers to the Dole pots that start at that weight.) However, 125g for Hartley's also falls within 115-150g and, as Hartley's are also mentioned in relation to that - or it appears to be that they are - they also seem to be within the 5 for £2 SEL.

I now suspect they mean the range of items that are included on 5 for £2 on m.com and that the Hartley's jellies in the 5 for £2 (there must be some otherwise why mention Hartley's at all, in relation to 5 for £2?) are 120g (although they have not stated this on the offer label), but have included "115-150g" as some of the other brands go down to or up to those weights. The Hartley's 125g jellies (and the 115g now joining them) on 4 for £1 do not appear to be in the 5 for £2; however the weights for 5 for £2 products include 125g for the Vimto jellies but they have not specified "Vimto 125g" instead have ended with "/Vimto Jelly 115-150g" and then, with the usual penchant for non-autistic people for being more likely to be ambiguous than not, have not clearly stated whether the "115g-150g" relates only to "Vimto Jelly" or whether it relates to some (or all) of the items specified immediately before the "/". I understand from m.com that Vimto Jelly is only 125g and therefore 115g-150g must relate to others of the products and that the M own label are 150g and that one of the Ambrosias is 115g; however the 5 for £2 SEL does not clearly exclude Hartley's Jellies 115g and 125g, which are on the 4 for £1, from being included within its ambit.

Looking at the two SELs on the shelves, I could not say, from instore, what mbuy price the Hartley's Jellies 115g and 125g were. It seemed to me that they fell within both SELs at the same time. I therefore shrugged my shoulders, clueless as to what offer the Hartley's Jellies 125g from last week were now in but concluded that they were "probably" 4 for £1 as they were that last week. Not really satisfactory though for it to be merely a "probably" - it ought to be clear and without doubt. I ought to be able to know, from the SELs, what the prices are and not have to be left to guess or to think "probably". I now understand clearly from m.com. However, that does not change the matter of the 'unclear' SELs from instore, which are all the APG collectors would ever see (if they have the same SELs in their stores which I have in all three of mine).

Again, it's NTs simply being unclear (I suspect) - however I do not know what the APG will make of the SELs - maybe it will have 4 for £1 and 5 for £2. So, buy four in A you get M at 4 for £1. Put an extra one that compares and it goes to 5 for £2:(. I hope not! However, hopefully you would only buy 4 (with a trigger) anyway.

It's clear from m.com (and therefore msm) what's in what offer at M. However, from instore, it is not clear (to me). So, working from unclear SELs, the price collectors would get...

Maybe it is clear, to some of you, from those SELs that I have quoted, what is included within what offer. Well, I'm sorry - it's not clear to me!

I also have, in one store, 10 for £6 and 10 for £5 on some of the Hipp/Cow & Gate/Heinz baby foods at the same time as each other. SELs do not have different expiry. I have one with 160g-200g at 10 for £5 and one with 160g-200g at 10 for £6. The 220g-250g are 6 for £5.

Obviously old mbuy SEL left on the shelf at the same time as a newer one is there. In other stores, I just have the 10 for £5 SEL on the 160g-200g. However, from the first store, I could not tell whether they were 10 for £6 or 10 for £5 - I would not know, from looking at the SELs there, which one of them was the correct one. It takes another store to resolve that (possibly! Hopefully it has resolved it:rotfl::rotfl: - I've no idea: second store's SEL could be wrong:rotfl: - but I think not: I think really 10 for £5 but, obviously, if old 10 for £6 SELs are left up and if APG happened to have more of those stores...).

Would you know (as a casual shopper that has a few seconds to look at the shelves when doing a full shop) that, what appears to be, "Hartley's Jelly... 113-125g" includes 115g and 125g but not 120g and that "Hartley's... Jelly... 115-150g" means 120g but not 115g or 125g? Is all that clear from both of those labels?

I suspect they either have not thought about it or have prepared those labels separately without considering (or maybe even not being aware of) what else their wording may appear to cover or else the left-hand doesn't know what the right is doing and two (or more) different people have been involved in writing those labels and don't know that they will be displayed simultaneously and what confusion they might cause at least me. It's not a deliberate thing: it's just simply not being aware of or just not addressing the mind to a particular matter.

M appear to have put quite a few more prices (or up in effect, e.g. if mbuys are no longer on). These from the 'buy in M' list have now been deleted as they've gone up (or had an mbuy offer removed):

    Jucee Squash 3L
    M Italian Garlic Doughballs (155g)
    Crucials sauces 500ml
    Mehran 100ml/110ml
Prince Polo Orzo (apparently - another check at till again)
    Lajkonik Paluszki Sticks
    Mae Ploy curry pastes
    Glenryck Sardines
    Wyke Mature Cheddar (I think).

That's just so you know what has gone up - and therefore, probably, what to avoid!

The £3.50 Whole Turkey Leg doesn't seem to be available anymore and all my stores earlier had gone back to the old £4.72 ones:(. Not very good but this time, for the first time, I've actually collected the 2 for £3 Shortcake Bites/Cornflake Bites etc. so we can see what should be 2 for £3 vs 2 for £3 for M.

Fudco Soya Chunks have actually gone down in price - and even appear to have a 10p More points offer on them (if anyone bothers with points anymore).

The Twizzlers kids hairstylist also appears to have gone down - from £2 to £1 - so should never have been on the list before. McVitie's Chocolate Digestives 500g (Avs M potential soon) have also gone to £1 in M - although still work out more expensive than SP/Eday Value. There are some more - Dairylea Dunkers (okay price in A at the moment - not useless £1 rback!), Quorn (fresh) Sausages 250g £1:eek:(:rotfl:), Quorn Cottage Pie 300g £1. Others too - just going to see if the Sensodyne Rapid Relief 75ml is included in the 2 for £4 offer as not clear from my stores whether that one was in the offer or not (again, the wording on the offer label:() - ah, yes it is!:D Stands no chance at all from my second store - no offer showing on any versions at all:rotfl:.

(I'd also be inclined to give more Ms the chance to change SELs on the Quorns - they aren't the ones that I was referring to earlier, just to confuse you - but my first store today, I had no clue that there was any offer on them from there. So, maybe after Wednesday's update rather than this one.)

It now seems some Nutcrackers on a different BC at 50p have suddenly come into one of my Ms (are they another item I removed some weeks ago?:rotfl:), after it was trying to sell another version at 68p in the interim between the 50p version being stocked previously at other stores. Anyway, you probably have no idea what I am going on about - and neither have I:rotfl: - they will be going back onto the list at 50p.

I mentioned earlier the Princes Mackerel going onto 50p in M - they are the 125g tins - Sunflower Oil (ordinary version, plain Mackerel Fillets), Curry Sauce, Tomato, Sweet & Sour, Mexican I don't think A has that, are ones that I know M has - they might only work after the Monday update but not after Wednesday's update particularly the more popular ones if they go from M very quickly. I already had the ones in Tomato Sauce only in one of the 3 Ms I used - no stock for that but only a SEL! RTC so they shouldn't work on TBG. (May find it never works on APG from Monday's update though as sometimes takes time to filter through whilst they recheck:( due to price going so low and then may work from Wednesday's update or might never do so.)

Hot dogs, 25p each - Ye Olde Oak Premium 400g and Ye Olde Oak Party 30 per tin - 560g. (Msm only shows the more expensive versions for M - so ignore that!) Some water too - still more expensive than tap water:eek::rotfl: - but ones with sports caps and some Strathmore Flavoured version too. All or some of which should be on the list later!

See you - bye for now!
