Good to hear work was a little better.

It is sound advice you are giving your sister - any lies on travel insurance, particularly for existing conditions that are on record, would be found out and invalidate the insurance (so a waste of money - any chance not to pay out will be taken by insurers). The premium is generally set to reflect risk, so if the quote is coming out very high after revealing all conditions unfortunately it may be a hint that the actual risk (not just the insurance risk) is too high to travel.

Shame i cant get my sister to realise that the reason its so high is that its too risky to take her at all!! She wont be persuaded otherwise I think. The other thing is she organises all these trips and then asks us all to contribute. I never do as number 1 I cant afford it and no 2 I dont see why I should. Thanks

But as usual in my life someone else is driving me mad. As you know my elder sister is a bit of a pain and wants to take out 89 year old Mum to Nice for a weeks holiday shortly. She took her in October ( against my younger sister and mine advice) and we managed to get travel insurance for about £250.00 as she has hydrocephalus, heart and mobility problems. But I did an insurance quote and the cheapest I got was £550.00 and some were as high as £2500.00! So I did another and could not even get a quote. Now elder sister wants to not put down all of Mums health problems in the hope of getting a cheaper quote or to contact Saga ( who did last year's quote ) to see if they will do it. She wont listen to either me or my sister that if she tells lies then the policy would be void even if she got some medical problems whilst abroad that were new problems.
As an example she has been home since Sat night and has already managed to cut my mums leg open on the car door!!
I am trying to be more positive in anticipation of my next grandaughter arriving as DD says she want her to have a happy and positive nanny.

does your 89 year old mum actually want to go to Nice - I suppose the flight it not too long but its the getting to the airport bit and the hanging around in departures and getting through customs and baggage handling at airports that is really wearisome.
Eldest child and her BF were held up getting back from Milan the other weekend because of French customers having a strike so it had a knock on effect.
I support airport security is now even more tight and long winded.

I also thought you had to have a letter from your docs if you had existing and ongoing medical conditions - would her doc even issue one of these?
