OK Mrs B there is no point in telling what mistakes you have made - we all know why this has happened - but we are where we are and you need this car fixed - quickly.

Booked in in April is a joke - get on the phone to other Nissan dealers and find a workshop that can sort this out asap.

Perhaps you'll need to pay to get the car taken to their premises - but check your breakdown cover - I know that my emergency cover would transport my car to a dealership for repair - espedilly if I was to stop at the roadside - but yours may not.

As for the future -you MUST use this car in the way that the engine needs, and was designed for - it doesn't matter if a decent run is 'impractical' for you or not, as this is going to happen again and again.

And forget about blaming the dealership/salesman for selling you the car - or did you actually discuss your specific type of usage with them?

The next nearest dealership is approx 60 miles away. And yes, the tyoe of usage was discussed, the salesperson's wife was a colleague of mine at the time and owning and driving a car is an essential part of our job. But I hut a brick wall back in October when i argued my case with the branch manager. I accepted mileage being added to our lease and have this in writing but having followed the advice of the garage I'm at a loss what to do.

Because of the PCP we do have roadside assistance and yes they would transport my car to a garage from the roadside.

No. Was it new when you bought it - do you have Nissan Roadside Assistance to call on?

Yes it only had the delivery milage on it and it is now sitting at just over 5000 miles.

We had them out the last time this happened. The guy cleared the fault and the amber light came back on within two minutes of me getting the car out of the driveway. I didn't fully understand the problem that time round so wasn't aware of going a run with it to do the regen.

Forgive me but this all sounds a bit "woolly" for me. Unless you specifically stated that you'd only be doing around 5000 miles a year, mainly short, stop/start drives and the dealer went on to advise the diesel is the correct car of choice then I really don't think arguing that the sales guy's wife was a colleague of yours is really going to cut it.

At the end of the day, please accept the advice here that on the face of it you haven't been miss-sold and the best thing you can do right now is to pursue Nissan into getting the car up and running as soon as possible.

It came on around 2/3 days after the amber light coming on. This time it came on as soon as i started the car when I finished work.

Why don't you call them out again? Clearly you can't leave it in your drive for 6 weeks without driving it.

A good idea is to use an additive such as JLM DPF cleaner, Wynns do a similar additive, you can get most of them in Halfords but you might have to look harder for JLM.

Also consider using Shell V Power or BP Ultimate Diesel (or whatever the expensive stuff is called now).

You could use the expensive diesel every other tank or use the additive every time you fill up following the instructions.

I doubt you can claim misselling as DPF problems on vehicles used for short trips is widely know, for at least 10years.

It is possible there is a fault with your specific vehicle?

Is there not some form or courtesy car or free Hire car via Nissan?

If you had bought an Evoque you would have been provided with a Hirw car as soon as your car broke down, you would get a free hire car of similar size. Under the Land Rover Assist scheme, you would also have access to Land Rover Techs that come out and often fix problems such as yours straight away.
