They seem to think dreadful service is completely acceptable, and you should be grateful that a company even deigns to do business with you. I think it's a massive inferiority complex, they daren't stand up for themselves in real life so come on here to criticise others instead.
I don't think you can really accuse Amazon of being a terrible service.

The issue here is more that a driver has made a mistake and left a parcel at a neighbours house - with minor inconvenience the OP received their order, it was in tact.
Some posters don't think it's a big deal and that mistakes happen, others think differently. There is no right or wrong, it just depends on your personal opinion.0 -
I've never signed for anything from Amazon logistics.0

That's exactly the issue. I only order stuff when I know I'm going to be in for the delivery. If I'm going to be in/out a lot during the week, I won't order anything. It really annoys me when I've stayed in all day and then find a delivery driver has lied and said they've tried to deliver it but I was out. Any kind of dishonesty doesn't sit well with me!0 -

You are joking aren't you?
I've been sat watching a status update on my spare computer screen all day, one firm in particular tells you what place you are in in the driver's delivery queue and even lets you track him on a map. I watched on screen as he delivered the drop before me, then saw he marked my delivery as "attempted, card left" and then did the next delivery! He came nowhere near me!
You can't possibly say "none" of these problems occur if you pay more. The best you can say is that it may be less likely to happen.0 -
how can it be safe to leave on a doorstep, clearly accessible to any member of the public to come along and steal it?
I'd report them for that, same if they left it in front of my own house for anyone passing to take.0 -

That was what I was saying essentially. If it has been signed for then it is highly likely a signature was required, so it really shouldn't have been delivered to any address other than the one on the parcelWhat do you propose the courier should do with a parcel a customer has ordered yet is not home to receive it?
Take it back to the depot and either attempt to redeliver or return it to the sender?0 -
Deliveries go wrong. I had a knock on my door and it was from somebody about a mile away who'd had a parcel for me left on their doorstep by myHermes. They'd kindly dropped it in as they were driving by. I've had stuff for their address from Royal Mail which I bung back in the post box. The only similarities in address are the number, first letter of the road, and the first 4 from the postcode.0
