May be of interest to those interested in the London economy and housing. Interesting section on the EU but the report (referenced in the article) covers foreign purchased housing and other things.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

You'd imagine that London, as the most international city in the UK with the possible exception of Aberdeen, would have the most to lose or gain from a Brexit.

One might expect that London as the most international city in the UK, would have most to gain from every closer links with the greater international community, rather that closer integration with the white christian EU.
But then again you may not.

You would imagine that if the draft of this report was on the desk of BoJo and Cameron a couple of weeks ago that it cannot of helped Boris make up his mind!

I think we would ultimately benefit from a brexit however I don't think the world would.

We would go down the very low tax rabbit hole. Lose some of our soft power. Align ourselves with some regimes that really dont deserve our company and generally do some pretty dirty deals.

Not everything is about money. Honour, loyalty and friendship play a key part in life. Even our other partners, the U.S. want us in.

I say we should stay with our allies that have kept the worst wolves from our door and everyone else's for our whole lives.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Alternatively we could just trade with all the countries of the world in an open and honest fashion, including those (mainly non white developing countries) that the French/Germans screwed due to election bribery of their farmers.
Obviously that would include continuing to trade with all the EU countries including all existing trade treaties.
There seem to be no economic losers.
Honour, loyalty and friendship can continue exactly as now : doubtless we can all learn from the close friendship that's been built between Germany and Greece.

I find it difficult to reconcile the 50 years of high EU tariff walls against the poor developing countries with the concept of keeping the wolves from their doors but others see those high tariff walls as a friendly greeting.

Where else in the world has created such a large new zone of free movement of people, goods trades and services ?

Yes. All this internationalism is so wonderful, isn't it? Very largely non-European Turkey, with its 80 million citizens, is about to join the fray (of course the blackmail deal to be undemocratically imposed on Europe, at the orders of Herr Merkel).
