    Nearly there!!! :j

Less than 24 hours and Owen will be at school!!! I for one can't wait - and neither can he. We've been driving each other bonkers for the past week. He's bored, energetic and stressed because we've got nothing to do. I just can't play all the time, but you can't explain that to a four year old. Freya's still breastfeeding full time and is currently not gaining properly, it's becoming a bit of a worry now, so I have to make a special effort to concentrate on feeding her and making sure that I eat enough myself. How can you balance a life with two children? I need a nanny - anyone want a job? :rotfl: I can't pay and duties will include feeding and dressing the boy (since the baby was born he's been refusing to feed himself, dress himself or wipe his own bottom. I think he sees her as slightly more of a threat than we first thought.).

I'm so tired. Have managed a desultory S and S of the house. I even made my bed, but then Owen dragged all of the covers off again. I feel a little like crying TBH.

Oh well, I'll just keep smiling and wait for tomorrow. Lovely to read all of your posts. Good luck pigpen, you're in my thoughts.

Awwwwwwwww pigpen he looks so smart, bet he comes out all smiles at the end of the day. I love your newel post ours is a boring mordern one which has been painted, dreading decorating the hall and stairs again as it will take ages to paint all the spindles.

Well after us being so organised for school this morning they didn't open the doors until almost 8.45 when they are all supposed to be in and ready to start. Then had approx 80 kids plus parents all trying to hang coats up and get the darlings into the right class. Was just like a cattle market :( Ended up having to 'hand' W over to his teacher as he wanted to go into his old classroom/teacher. A was then fretting that she would be late and she was really as all the other kids in her class were sat down, so I ended up having to leave her. Poor mite looked a bit fed up to say the least.

I know they will both be ok but felt school could have opened earlier to make it all a bit less fraught all round.

    Right one house to tidy/declutter/clean!

    Onwards............after a cuppa of course ;)

the newel post is an !!!!!! It gets loads of dust in the gaps and carved bits and I have to fluff it out with a paint brush!!! It was one of the reasns we bought this house would you believe it has loads of the original Victorian features.. the ceiling rose in the front room is amazing.. I'll try to find the pic for you..

    ceilingrosesmallgq6.jpg

It does have a light fitting in now... the front room had no electrics or lighting when we moved in!!! It is also white now.. the woman who had lived here before was a PIG and a half!!! The house was GROSS.. honestly it made my skin creep so goodness knows how a 'neat-freak' would have coped!!! Anyway.. it looks much nicer now.. but you get the idea!

Soot or fag smoke??? But then it does help show the detail up! :rotfl:

Bet it looks great now and yes I know what you mean about dust collecting on the nooks and crannies. Our skirting boards are fairly plain but do have a lovely dust collecting groove in!

I have just finished updating my post from yesterday (for some reason the PC wouldn't work last night, did mean that I finished the ironing instead of sitting on my butt here).

Hope all the little ones have gone off to school okay and that all mums are making the most of the peace and quiet, it takes a bit to get used to I have had an empty house for nearly two weeks and I still have the radio on all the time.

pigpen - I don't do mice my one pet hate although it did make me smile reading that they had taken time to bath the little thing, if that was me you would have been scrapping me off the ceiling.

right going to put together toadys list and set to it.
