Fay,

Ok, not the end of the world. Ring the number and find out the deal with the seller. If necessary, you can then start the dispute. My TV is broken!

What about finding the seller's address from the electoral roll and going round there to collect my bathtub? I'm pretty sure the name on Paypal is the seller's real name.
Should I notify Ebay of the false name and invalid tel. no. at this stage?0 -

You could try it, but I have to say I wouldn't welcome you with open arms if you came to my house without warning.Should I notify Ebay of the false name and invalid tel. no. at this stage?
No, because there's a fair chance it will get him suspended, and that might complicate the dispute. My TV is broken!

I think you have to wait 8 or 10 working days before opening a dispute and then another 10 days to allow the seller to reply, then close the dispute (escalate) and wait another 3-4 weeks for paypal to make a decision.
Not sure if you want to wait all this time....Good luck0 -
It should be possible to open a dispute now.My TV is broken!

I have opened a paypal dispute as you recommended, thanks.
I have not disputed on ebay yet.
It seems all paypal can do is refund my money. They wont force the seller to hand over the goods.0
