No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries March 2016

Wow Gemzie, sounds like a horrid start to the week!
We don't have hamsters anymore, but we have had. I remember the first one we lost, a little dark beauty named Hazel who was so friendly. People underestimate how much it effects you - losing little furry friends. My hubby came home to find me sitting on the stairs crying with Hazel wrapped up in my hands. I am usually quite pragmatic, I think he thought I had lost the plot!
I have a few colleagues who bully me for covers, and someone who always asks when she can see I am pre occupied, down, or trying to concentrate on something. I've been 'had' several times now. Now I have figured out the pattern I am a bit wiser to it.
If you are feeling rotten I'd recommend shopping from your stash. I did this a few weeks ago to avert a spending crisis. Unloved shampoo, and body wash got moved to the household/laundry cuboard to wash woolens and lingerie (so not really wasted), and new luxurious stuff came out of stash just to distract me from feeling so down about several bouts of bad news.
Hoping your week gets better Gemzie. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Few more UUs to report!
- Joules hand scrub - from my PP. I got this as part of a Christmas gift set last year. Have repainted a few rooms over the last couple of days, so this was useful to get rid of the paint all over my hands!
- Face mask sachet - I can't remember the make, but it was pineapple 'flavoured'. It was ok, but my skin seems a little dried out today!
- Dirty Works and Impulse body sprays - these have been hanging around for years (can't remember the last time I bought an aerosol body spray!) but at least they're gone!
- Mitchum deodorant - the one I keep at my boyfriend's has now finished, so I shopped my stash to get a new one to take to his!abbe89 wrote:[STRIKE]- 1 x hotel/gift set shower gel (carried over from Feb)[/STRIKE]

Hugs gemzie, sounds like you need one. Re work colleague I won't say friend as she doesn't sound like one. I'd get back to her and say she caught you on the hop and now you've checked your diary you can't swap with her.
Go through your stash and find a nice little forgotten treat in there and pamper yourself with that.
Sorry to read about your little hamster.SPC~12 ot 124

Gemzie, sorry to hear about your hamster. I am still torn as to whether to replace our bunnies or not and understand all too well (as other pet owners on here do) how empty you can feel after they pass. Chin up and try not to let the work colleague get you down.
I UUed a small bottle of Darphin Micellar Water this morning. To be fair I tipped it out onto my Real Techniques sponge to clean it. Was totally ineffective at that too and I ended up using Baby shampoo in the end. Came in a Birch Box. Would not purchase.
I also opened up a Clinique eyeshadow trio which I'm going to throw away tonight. The colours look faded on me IYKWIM.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. This is a slow month for me.
23) UU Patisserie De Bain Cranberries and Cream shower gel. This was a free gift, but I would not buy it. It smelt lovely, but was very runny. I ended up using it as hand wash.0 -
Aww that's pretty rubbish Gemzie, hope you get the work thing sorted. As others have said I'd just say you want her to work a different day for you, at least you will keep your extra money then.
A couple of UU from my trip away L'Occitane comforting cream sample and Wilko Skin Wisdom face wipes. We did buy a joint Lush bar for the hotel bath but only have half left so Im not bothering to add to my list as its technically joint:o
I need the weekend already and havent even started my working week yet:eek::eek::eek:Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Life got tough but I acted made a lot of changes. I think the only thing I have kept constant in the last two weeks will be my hair colour and make up stash. If you ever saw the vw advert from the 80’s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKQIUJOr1GA you will know the amount of stuff I’ve moved away from. Keeping the car too!
Gemzie- I understand what it is like when you get a colleague pressurizing you to swop. I am owed a lot of covers by one person and there is no chance I’ll get it back. Sometimes you have to accept that you got caught but never again. They have burnt bridges. No more swops for this bully. Revenge is best served ice cold- you have plans every time they need a swop from now on. No one will replace your friend but it might be good to help give a home to a little dude.
Valm- have you tried using the trio over a dark colour to bring out the intensity of the colour? Thanks for the review of the Darphin Micellar Water- it’s good to know it’s not great.
Thanks for the support- I normally don’t like to mention RL but I’m beginning to see how I feel has impacted on my shopping.
Used up caudalie detox face mask- lovely0 -
Hi savingfortomorrow. To be fair the I think the eyeshadows may have dried up as they were a few years old. Thanks for the tip though.
Another UU : Lancôme Genefique sample size. As mentioned before the pipette was useless as it only gave me very small doses that did not cover my face. I was tipping product out and using too much. Either way it was weird to use. On first application it sank straight into my skin and made it feel tight, then it turned sticky (obviously because I had used too much) but in the mornings my skin did feel lovely. I think all in all if I was to buy another serum I would either go for the Gatineau one or get L'Occitane Divine oil. As things stand I have various moisturisers to use as night cream and will see how I get on with them first.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Sending hugs and well wishes to all who need them this week
VALM inspired me to pull out my original Naked palette, so that's what I'm using on my eyes today. I feel the look is quite nice if I do say so myself! :rotfl:
This has been a very slow month for me. I've been exhausted in the evenings, and some nights I have removed my make up and then gone straight to bed. No serum or night cream or anything! Thankfully my skin isn't rebelling from it's lack of pampering, but must get back into a good routine again. My body is suffering worse though, as moisturising seems to have gone out of the window. Hello crocodile skin!:eek:
Tonight I'm hoping to have a mini pamper session to apologise to my skin. Lots of moisturiser planned!
I do have a UU though to declare:
Cowshed Anti-Ageing Perfecting Night Serum sachet 2ml
- owing to my laziness in the evening this 2ml sample has lasted me 2 weeks. It's actually a lovely serum and my skin has loved it on the nights I have remembered to use it. I have another sample of this in my stash to use, but WBA, if I ever get to the end of my serum stash0
