Sneaks into thread, waving merrily. It has been an interesting week...

Everything was fine last week until Friday. DD2 was over, making lunch and I went dizzy. I then proceeded to pass out completely. Unfortunately I have as sitting in a chair which didn't help. When I came to DD2 was right in front of me on the phone to the ambulance people.

The ambulance people rang back ten minutes later and spoke to me. They upgraded me to urgent and sent an ambulance to check me out.

Ambulance crew checked me over. They were convinced that it was low blood pressure but gave me the choice to go in and be checked. I chose to go in because it was Friday afternoon and if I had another episode I didn't want to be going in with the drunks on a Friday night.

They let me out at about half four, ha concluded it was low blood pressure, probably due to being dehydrated.

However having fainted in a chair I must have slumped in a strange manner and by Friday night I had a new problem in that I had strained a load of muscles in my left hand side. I spent the weekend hobbling like my mum. I literally couldn't get out of a chair by myself and was walking with a stick.

So by yesterday my mobility was improving and it was back for week 2 chemo. They investigated everything that happened and decided it was safe to proceed. And then I had the classic allergic reaction. Literally in the amount of time it took DD1 to look down at her phone I went from normal colour to lobster coloured. DD1 immediately summoned help and once they stopped the infusion I went straight back to my normal colour. Five minutes later I felt fine.

They checked me over and an hour later let me come home. I have an emergency appointment with the consultant on Monday. Apparently the reaction is reasonably common and is to an addictive to the solution, not the drug itself. The nurses are hopeful that with extra antihistamines and steroids I may still be able to have it. We will know more next week.

So that was my week. I feel absolutely fine now, and am hoping for a quiet weekend. I will keep on posting.

  • Evening all,

Been awol for a day or two due to mad busyness.

CY really good to hear from you, that was an eventful few days, really glad you can say you feel fine. Hope they work it out for you with the chemo.

mrsmoneypenny good news re mammogram x

piggers get well soon, you seem to be getting everything that is going around at the moment. Are you run down, exhausted, have too much happening?

No flying done except dailies both today and yesterday. Yesterday after work went to Manchester to watch dd1 in the school choir at a concert. Today day off but after I walked the dog I came home, had a brew and some toast and promptly fell asleep. Then it was time to go into school to listen to readers. Now off to try to mend a broken pair of fairy wings in time for world book day tomorrow. Given my skills in that department it may be easier to jump in the car to Mr. S's.

Its not just me! Its OH, all the children and DD1's family of 4 too.. we just have a lot of germpools to wallow in I think .. 2 nurseries, 2 primary schools, 1 high school, 4 college groups in 3 different buildings, university, 3 work places then ice skating and dance classes... it's just everywhere, we never get chance to get fully recovered before the next thing hits! I think we are all, all of those things! It will pass I guess.. its nearly summer and the germies will be roasted alive!

    Sorry I have been missing.

CY what a frightening week. Hope you are feeling ok X

Mrs MP glad hospital went well and it was a cyst X

I have been busy finishing decorating our living room. I have also moved on to part of the hall and the kitchen. One room done always makes the adjoining rooms look bad.

I have balanced on my work tops and scrubbed the cupboard tops, walls and ceiling. They were full of greasy dust

Had to get out of the paint fumes today so took water filters, batteries, old medicines, printer cartridges and other recyclables to various collection places. I have worn out a 2nd shredder with my paperwork de cluttering.

    7 small drawers sorted

    2 loads X Wm

    Clothes kondoed

    1 bag out for charity

    Ground floor henried
    Floor mopped (kitchen)

Dancegran & pops visited. Paperwork flying there.

    More items listed for sale.

Have finally managed to read back over the thread. Love and Flylady vibes to all who are struggling.

Glad things are moving on the house front Mumof2.

Hope Pigpen and OH start to feel better soon.

YL - about the threadworms - they are pretty common. DD2 has picked them up a number of times whilst working at the pre school and after school club. The most important thing is to give the medicine to everyone in the family, not just the affected members. Not pleasant, but easily resolved, even if it does create more work. Much like nits really..

DD2 will be over this morning, so looking forward to that. I have chased OH back to work - he has been working from home this week to check I was ok. I am desirous of some normality..

Morning ladies - special hugs for CY - what a frightening week for you. Fingers crossed they get the chemo problem sorted PDQ.

Very tired at the moment - not sleeping at all well. Having strange and upsetting dreams, some I don't even understand!? Tiny didn't nap all day until bedtime yesterday, so I literally didn't stop. If there wasn't school today, I'd be locking my bedroom door and going back to the land of slumber.

Oh well, at least I'll be flying in the Master Bedroom...
