I haven't paid my very off yet. I still have over £800 on it but I have a few different buy now pay laters where the interest free period finishes at different times.

I totally get what you mean about the gadgets I'm usually the same but I can't afford it so I can't have it but it's on my wish list because I will have it one day :)

    Hi Pops

You are doing soooooooooo well :D

I also check by on line banking daily, I cant help it lol I have to keep track of every penny.

Well done on your £5 a day challenge. I find the challenges really help. I am constantly looking for ways to make my pennies go further.

£74 in you EF is good going considering how you were feeling before. Your mood has lifted much more now and it shows in what you write.

    Keep going Pops. :A

    Hey 12 month!
Thank you for all the support! Feeling so much more positive and I'm really going to try hard to stay positive.
Yea the challenges have been really great for keeping me focused on something other than that great big number!!!

Well I'm in the black and it's 11 days till pay day so keeping those fingers and toes crossed that nothing pops up unexpected in the next 11 days!
I am going to be so pleased and proud of myself if I get to payday still in the black.

Only made 50p on a survey today but 50p more than nothing :)

Going try and spend as little as possible on food shopping next week.

    Have a lovely weekend xx

I really need to do some sort of meal plan this week looking through my cupboards and freezer to see what I can use so that I only have to buy a few bits and bobs to create meals.
Also must spend some time putting some things on eBay to try and get some money.
Still on the hunt for a better paid job but not getting very far with that one.
No other MSE news to add really

Hi popstess, noticed your new diary and will follow your journey. I have fazes where I will come on the forum everyday for a few weeks and then have a gap of a week or two, where I don't log on. When I log back on and review what I have spent in the meanwhile I get annoyed with myself with some silly spending, but pick myself up and carry on. Payday for me is next Friday and I cannot wait, I treat myself to a little spend of say £20 or less but that is all I need to keep me happy. Eldest DS is moving out this weekend to a flat near where he works so I am hoping to see a difference in my weekly shop. He is into healthy eating and some of the stuff I buy isn't cheap although he does give me money towards it. Had a chippy tea tonight and already I have saved about £5 as there was only 3 people to buy for instead of 4.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend popstess.x

Hi Amber thank you for subbing :) I know what you mean I tend to do that too.
I'm sure you will start to see some savings now DS is living independently.
Thank you, you have a lovely weekend too
  • Hi Pops

Hope you are having a lovely Mothers Day :)

Well done on your surveys. I am still doing yougov. Only another 3000 points to get my £50 :rotfl: I like yougov as I haven't been screened out of one yet and they are only ever between 5-12 minutes long.

Its so good also that you are trying so hard to stay in the black with your bank. A couple of months like that and you will just get into the habit of not using the OD.

    Hi 12month
Thank you i have, I hope you had a lovely one too.
I get fed up with yougov as I'm in patient and need rewards to keep me going lol.
I do still go on from time to time though.

Thank you it has been sooooo tough though!!! I'm on edge!! I am wishing my life away till the 15th and payday and i can breath a little.

I'm feeling a bit stressed tonight trying to work out what on earth I could make from the cupboards and freezer for next weeks meals only buying a few essentials but I'm struggling.

I don't want to just think sod it and go nuts and spend more than my budget on shopping because I can't plan and decide. Feeling frustrated!!!
