Wednesday 24th Feb - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Hi February Folk,
I had the chance to take today as paid holiday so I did!
Just as well, the snow has returned. Feeling really happy about this day at home. It's the wee treats that are the best.
If we can make £7 more profit on eBay we can pay back the remainder of the car borrowings on Friday into our Australia Fund. This is the first time I've ever bought a car without external borrowing.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Nine:
* Post eBay item by walking to local Post Office. See if my prescription is ready at the same time. (Our Post Office is also our Chemist.) Done.
* The newer car was missing a windscreen washer cap, lift bonnet to check that garage gave us one for free on Monday. Take ten minutes to check on the quality of free repairs they did for us. All ok but no cap, will investigate.
* Clear emails.
* Update Finances Spreadsheet. Backup up said file. Done.
* Check if MusicMagpie have paid out yet. Nope.
* Change CDs that are in the car for ones in the CD rack. I've been listening to the same ones for months! Done.
* Check Loyalty Points. Done.
* No journey to and from work today.
* Have a smurfing good tidy up. OH did most of the housework yesterday but there are still things out of place. I can't bear the thought of losing something of value.
* Alarm clock off at the wall til tonight.
* Bedroom tidied. Stray socks reunited.
* Study tidied. Precious files backed up.
* Tidied toolbox. Made a bag full to go on Freecycle. Though why I bother...the amount of time-wasters on there...
* Annoying Things List: Change which program opens photos by default on my laptop. Ultimately this will be a time saver as I won't have to make five clicks each time to get it to open with the right program.
* Cleaned bathroom with Stardrops and washable cloths.
* Managed to get washing out on the line as the snow has stopped falling.
* Annoying Things List: Report something to the Council again. Reported in December. So far not been remedied.
* Use up potatoes for lunch.
That's about it. What about you?

Good morning to all

Other half has a day off so he has much more extensive list of things to be getting on with!
-Take overnight oats for breakfast and my lunch with me to classes today
-Change university stuff into backpack from handbag
-Take teabags into uni so I don't have to pay 1.80 for a tea (shocking, I know)
-unfortunately not a NSD as I will have to pay for the hot water for my tea bags and my noodles for lunch.
-sort uniforms for hospital placements
-general tidy up though I am hoping OH will have done this ... Stranger things have happened!
-sort out unwanted clothes and other bits around the house to sell or give to charity shop
-get cards for Mother's Day and brothers birthday
Think that's about it, 'have a good day' to you all!0 -
Hi all
Gorgeous morning here.
Have spent hours this morning reconsidering certainties of my life. Quite interesting in a peculiar way.
There is no rush to make decisions but they do need making at some point.
Meals from stores.
Done laundry but at least three loads of dishwasher backed up.
Off to work now.

Morning all.
Hope your day gets better CCL.
Lovely meal out with my friend last night but I did spend more than I planned. Also checked my "pots" account and something seems to have gone awry (I know I check t everyday to see if anythings gone out but don't always check against my spreadsheet so maybe this is something I need to start doing too) so will check again today to see if I was just miscalculating, if not I'll work into the budget so its straight again.
Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Load of washing on 30 degree eco wash
* Take lunch to work
* Defrost car using warm water
* Check FPL
* Look again at "pots" account
* Finalise budget for next month
* Check TCB - £46.59 still pending
* Arrange time with mum to look at clothes in Mr T so I can use her discount to get a few new work bits
* Pop to Home Bargains for lunch bits
* Look at coupons available and print at work (saw a vid this morning which said with a coupon you can get flash cleaner free plus 25p overage)
* Dinner from stores
* Housework as per flylady
Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a good day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)0 -
