    If that were true you'd have no choice as to conveyancers, HSBC tried it a few years ago. They said the buyers has to use their firm of conveyance, it lasted just over a torturous year

    The Contract pack may not include the leasehold information pack which the freeholder/management company provides.

    fair enough, though given that the years left were on the lender valuation, I am assuming they were aware when they offered me the mortgage?

    The information pack isn't about the actual lease document itself I'm afraid. It goes over my head unfortunately but normally includes statements, annual forecast.....

    Personally I think it's just a way for the freeholder to make more money
