  • Sorry but just had a thought. If you didnt authorise paypal to take money from your bank account, how did they know the details of your bank account to take the money? Ie your account number and sort code. I presume you have unwittingly added these details somewhere in paypal.

Its nothing to do with paypal. The op but them into ebay and ebay uk took the direct debit. The op usually pays through his/her fees through paypal. On my internet banking/bank statement (also with Natwest) a ebay direct debt shows as D/D EBAY whereas a paypal direct debit shows as D/D Paypal Payment.

If ebay took fees from the op bank account on his/her statement it should show D/D EBAY

If they shouldn't have taken it what about your direct debit guarantee? Tell the bank you have never authorized payment and ask them to show you the mandate. If they have a mandate then I guess you pay, if not you'll get refunded.

I have a reply from eBay, they were very polite and they tell me that when signing up to eBay you get a choice of direct debit, or no direct debit, i must have unknowingly proceeded with direct debit selected, after an email came through saying that direct debit was approved by my bank, i should have thought ahead, i can only blame myself now.

All i want to know is how long i have to pay this money, i don't know what an authorised or unortharised overdraft is?

OP ~ you are 15 ~ you shouldn't even be legally trading on eBay and have already been advised of this.

On THIS thread you have asked for advice regarding NOT paying your eBay fee's ~ my suggestion is that you take the advice offered.

You must speak to your bank at your earliest convenience with reagrds to paying back your unauthorised overdraft (an assumption based on your age)
