eBay Fee's, Direct Debit, Bank Charged!

Hi, i received an email from eBay saying that my bank had approved direct debit from them, upon reading this i was very stunned as i had not known anything about this, i did not request direct debit, i posted about this weeks back and was told to wait and see what happens.
My eBay fee's were at £11.92 and when i checked, my bank is at -£38 now as eBay were unable to take any money since my balance was 0.
I payed my eBay fee's through paypal, and they are now at £0.00, Is this my fault that i have been charged for this, even though i did not sign up for any kind of direct debit with eBay?
PLEASE HELP!

When payal take the money from your bank to pay eBay it works like a direct debit.
Did you have money in your papal account when you paid your eBay fee's?:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -
They took it out of my NatWest bank account. I pay my fee's manually through PayPal and did not request direct debit, im outraged as to why they have put me £38 in debt !!!!!
EDIT: I have emailed eBay with my problem, is there any chance they would pay the £38, or am i stuck with this now?0 -
How do you fund your paypal account ~ I will ask again, were there funds in your paypal account when you paid your eBay fees?:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Yes of course, i get funds in my paypal account from selling items on ebay, once the fee's have built up a bit i pay them off, i always have money in my paypal account, but it isn't my paypal account that they have charged the direct debit, it is my bank.0

You're stuck with it I'm afraid as the banks won't refund charges because of the test case.
They did the same to me too, on a child's bank account - under 18, totally wrong. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

In which case you need to demand with eBay that they refund the charges from your account ~ dont let them fob you off and stick with your complaint.

in order for ebay to take frees from you main bank account through direct debit not involving paypal. You would have had to set up you bank details on ebay... near the end of doing that it asks... would you like your fees taken though direct debit... if you clicked yes it would have taken you to a direct debit mandate (if i remember correctly) in doing this your authorise ebay to access your bank account through direct debit...
However ebay will email you at least 7 working days before taking payment ~ i know because i always pay my ebay fees through direct debit. If you didnt read/read the email the wrong way/the email went into your spam~bulk~junk folder then i am sorry but i very much doubt ebay will do anything...
you can post here for more advice though http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=40
ebay help page ~ http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/account/payfees.html?fromFeature=My%20eBayDirect Debit: This is an easy option to make regular payments on your eBay account. Simply provide eBay with your Bank/Building Society account number and bank sort code, and eBay will automatically send a request to your Bank/Building Society to obtain authority to deduct your monthly invoice amount from your account.
Please allow for 19 days for your bank account information to be approved and established for automatic monthly payments. The amount to be debited from your bank account will be your monthly invoice amount. This debit will occur within 7-10 days after the receipt of your invoice.
The invoice that any seller gets if there is ebay fees outstanding on your account... this email/invoice goes to your email address you registered to ebay.0 -
How long will i have to pay the £38 before it starts increasing?0

It depends, are you in an authorised or unauthorised overdraft now?No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
