We should just hand out buckets of tax payers cash with no checks whatsoever. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

People sign fortnightly to declare there have been no changes. So why sign a letter saying the same thing. You are told when you claim that you must report any changes. There are other ways to check if a person is suspected of fraud. After all is a fraudster really going to fill this form in honestly anyway?
Did they find that many people were getting away with fraud and then decide that sending a letter to sign would solve it? Pretty silly if they did.0 -
Just a reminder. This thread was started asking for help. If there are people who just want to do daily mail anti benefit trolling can they please take it elsewhere.0

And I believe you've had advice.
Sign the form...enclose copy of bank statement if required
Put in envelope and either
a) take to JC
b) Post
There really is nothing else to discuss.
If you want to argue about the 'waste of money' you believe the DWP are engaged in, discuss it on the Discussions Board.0 -
Indeed I have had help and I appreciate the help. Sadly one or two posts were just not being very nice. They werent attempting to show why my point was wrong. So I asked them to take that kind of thing elsewhere. You saying take discussing whether it's a waste of money elsewhere just to be clever does not work as I was just responding to a question about its existence. And I believe you've had advice.

You say nothing else to discuss but anything helpful that may not have been said is welcome. And if there's nothing else to say I expect to not see you post in the thread again.0 -

I am not sure what help was really needed. You were sent a form, you fill it in, or not, if you want to risk your benefit. If they sent it to you, they want it completing, end of.
Clearly, there need to be checks that benefit is being correctly paid, and this is the safety net form solely designed to check the details of the claim are correct. If they are you have nothing to fear.0 -

Quite right...there's absolutely nothing left to say, which was exactly as I pointed out in my post.0 -
No you shouldn't be worried.donnajunkie wrote: »i have just recieved a letter called an annual verification form. all it is doing is asking me to confirm details havent changed. then i have to sign it and send it back. should i be worried at all? should i send it back via recorded delivery to be safe?
its quite silly and an example of a total waste of money when you consider that people already sign every fortnight to confirm whether their details have changed or not.
It's a DWP admin task, they are processed very quickly, they sent confirmation letter within days.
My last one arrived late or on last day, they sent a reminder with 2nd one, then sent confirmation text message when they processed first one.0 -
I think it says provide proof if over £5500 in last 6 months.donnajunkie wrote: »i dont know, someone has suggested that.
just been looking through the form again and it is unclear whether you have to include a bank statement no matter what or if you just have to if you have over £5500.0
